WWE Superstar Sasha Banks claims she’s ready to steal the show at SummerSlam
WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks hits back at UFC's Conor McGregor as she prepares to prove she is 'The Boss'
WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks says she’s ready to steal the show against Charlotte at SummerSlam on August 21.
But there’s someone else “The Boss” would like to see in a WWE ring – UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Banks was one of several WWE superstars to hit back at the Irish fighter on Twitter after he branded them “messed up p******” and tweeted that he’d “slap the head off your entire roster”.
But Banks reckon he couldn’t cut it in WWE.
She said: “It was like, really? You fight twice a year and you’re off the rest of the year. We do this every single day. So yes, bring it.
“I would definitely love to see him in the ring and see if he could actually do our schedule.
"He’s complained before about scheduling and doing media stuff. So he can cry all he wants but you know what? We’re definitely better than him.
“It's definitely a tough thing to do our job, to be in the WWE, because this is no walk in the park. I’d like to see him in WWE so I can kick his butt.”
But for now The Boss is focused on SummerSlam, WWE’s second biggest event of the year.
After winning the Women’s Championship two weeks ago on the first Monday Night Raw of WWE’s “New Era”, she will put the belt on the line against former champ Charlotte – who’s also the daughter of wresting legend Ric Flair.
And after learning the ropes together in NXT, Banks knows exactly how to beat Charlotte.
She said: “Her biggest weakness is that she knows that I’m better than her. I helped her in NXT so much when she knew nothing. I was there to hold her hand. I know that hurts her inside.

“Once I see that in her eyes, that she’s lost focus, that she knows I’m better than her, because I’ve done a better move than her or get a bigger reaction, that’s when I strike.
“She’s good for where she’s at, but she’s not better than me.”
SummerSlam marks almost a year to the day since NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn was held the same building – the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York – where Banks put women’s wrestling on the map in a blistering show-stealer against Bayley.
Now she’s hoping to do the same again. But with the likes of Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton, Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor, and John Cena vs. AJ Styles all on the card, the women will need to be at the top of their game.
Banks said: “We have got some competition. There are definitely a lot of great matches. The thing that scares me is whether we’re going to get the right amount of time because there are so many matches at SummerSlam.
“But whenever you put me in the ring I’m going to try and steal the show – I’m going to show the world why I’m the best.
“Having that match with Bayley last year just motivates me even more to show the Brooklyn fans that it wasn’t fluke. We can do it again – we can steal the show.”
Along with Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch and WWE’s other talented female performers, Banks has already taken women’s wrestling to a whole new level. And Banks says it was always her dream to turn women’s wrestling around and earn the respect of both the fans and boys in the locker room.
She said: “I wanted to change what this division was – the definition of what it was to be a Diva. But we’re not Divas anymore, we’re Superstars, and that’s so important.
“It needs to be talked about that we’re not Divas, we’re Superstars who are equal to the men. I hope people look back in the history books and say, ‘Sasha Banks did it.”
But there are still things yet to happen in WWE’s new and improved women’s division, such as an all-woman Money in The Bank ladder match, cage matches, or even a King of the Ring-style tournament. But The Boss reckons that given time, the possibilities for WWE’s women are endless.
She said: “There are so many options and open doors for us. I actually get scared thinking about what I would do in a ladder match or cage match. My mind is always crazy about what things I would do off the cage.
“I really do think with time we’ll get the same opportunities with guys. We’re proving that we can hang in the ring, get ratings and have people tune in just to see the women.
“It’s a great honour to be a part of the division we have now… I am changing the game.”
