Hideki Matsuyama goes into the final round with a four-stroke lead over the chasing pack after a stunning 65 on Saturday.

But there is no Woods at this year's tournament following his horror car crash in February.

The five-time Masters champ, 45, smashed his SUV into a tree driving at around 87mph in a 45mph zone.

He broke both bones in his lower left leg in two places and suffered a serious ankle injury, and was in hospital in Los Angeles for three weeks before being allowed to return to his home in Florida.

The golfing legend is on the road to recovery now but is forced to keep up with the tournament's climax on the TV.

And American former golfer Spiranac, now a social media celebrity, took to Twitter on Saturday to express her sadness at Tiger's absence - as well as providing plenty of updates as she watched the drama unfold.

The 28-year-old - wearing her slightly more revealing green jacket this week - simply tweeted: "I miss Tiger playing."

She also added: "The Masters is the best major I will never change my mind about that."

And it appears the feelings are mutual with Woods gutted to miss out two years on from winning the tournament.

Justin Thomas revealed his close pal texted him ahead of the 85th Masters to say: "It's starting to kick in now - wish I was there.”

The world No2 has a better knowledge of Woods' condition than most but did not want to give details, saying it was up to Tiger to decide how much people needed to know.

Thomas said: “I went over and saw him a couple of times last week. I try to go over whenever I'm home and see him.

"He's bummed he's not here playing practice rounds with us, and we hate it, too."

Soon after the crash, Spiranac backed her idol to make a remarkable comeback to the course.

She told her  podcast: "You look at everyone who counted him out and then he won the 2019 Masters and it was like the comeback of the century.

"So if anyone can do it, Tiger can do it.

"You’re not going to know until we see him again and then we’ll know that he is coming back or not.

"I think that this question was getting a lot of heat, and of course it’s the most important thing he can hug his kids again, but we all want to see Tiger playing and healthy and happy.

"You look at his life and everything he has been through and it’s sad, I just feel bad for him."
