Manchester United take away catering facilities from car park staff and make them ask to use the loo
As Zlatan Ibrahimovic signs on £250,000 a week, morale among staff is said to be low as kettles and toasters removed
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly angered car park staff by removing catering facilities from their portakabins at Old Trafford - and now they have to ASK to use the loo.
In a strange and unexplained move, it has been claimed kettles, fridges, tables, toasters — and even teabags and coffee which staff used on matchdays — were taken away from the four cabins dotted around the car parks for staff to use on their breaks.
A source said: ‘The cabins were a little place you could go to if the weather was awful. People on early shifts would go and make a piece of toast or get a tea or a coffee and it was somewhere you could put your butties.
"On Wednesday a car turned up and stripped the lot of them. Some of the kettles and toasters weren’t even owned by the club — staff had brought them in themselves. We couldn’t believe it.
"They say we should go to the police room, which has been refurbished, but we only get 20-minute breaks and it takes some of us almost 10 minutes to get there.’
The source added that morale among the staff, most of whom earn just £7.20 an hour, was at an all-time low.
He added: "You’re paying the likes of £250,000 a week and taking teabags and coffee from staff. You honestly couldn’t make it up. Morale was bad before but this is something else."
