Manchester United player Chris Smalling proposes to girlfriend Sam Cooke
MAN United ace Chris Smalling has put his England woes behind him by popping the question to long-time girlfriend Sam Cooke.
Earlier this month the defender was hospitalised after a bout of food poisoning on holiday in Bali.
But the 26-year-old recovered in time to propose to the ex-Page 3 girl, now a photographer.
And she made the announcement on Facebook last night.
The 30-year-old said: “Last night in the most perfect setting Chris asked me to be his wife.
Ridiculously happy!!!!”
Sam was congratulated by pals back home as the couple continued their celebrations on holiday.
They are travelling in the Far East before Smalling has to return to training at Old Trafford.
The stunning model had been supporting her footballer boyfriend during his short stint in the Euros.
She spent time in France with friends and family – and even brought along her pet dog Miley.
His United teammates have also been enjoying a break after their devastating defeat to Iceland which saw them knocked out of the Euros.
Delli Ali has been seen raving in Ibiza surrounded by bikini-clad women, while United and England captain Wayne Rooney has been drinking cheap cocktails in Spain with wife Colleen.
