JAKE PAUL and Tommy Fury look set to finally meet in the ring on August 6.

The pair were scheduled to meet at the end of 2021 before Fury pulled out through injury and illness as Paul went on to knock out Tyron Woodley in their rematch.

Since then, Fury picked up a points victory back in April and immediately began calling out the YouTube star once more.

The two have been going back-and-forth relentlessly online, but earlier this week a breakthrough appeared to be made.

Initially, Paul said: "Yet again I wake up to a text from my manager saying Tommy Fury is pulling out of the fight.

"We agreed to all of the terms, we're 45 days away from the fight. We agreed to his $2m purse, to VADA testing, to extra rooms, extra flights, extra tickets.

"We are scheduled to have a press conference in New York next week until now.

"What's the excuse? 'Because my dad can't be there with me.'

"Tommy you're dad has been banned from the USA for 15 years, he's not allowed in.

"I will agree to not have my team with me, we can both fight solo.

"This is what real boxers do, they make fights happen.

"You're scared, you claim to be a pro boxer but you won't make the fight.

"Where is all your s*** talk now? This is the biggest opportunity of your life and you're fumbling the bag once again.

"I can't believe how f***ing stupid you are, f***ing idiot."

But Fury then clapped back by insisting the fight is ON.

The brother of heavyweight champion Tyson said: "The fight is on. August 6th.

"Forget a team or any other bulls***. I don’t need anybody to help me lay you flat on that canvas.

"Oh and thanks for finally signing the drug testing… you only agreed to it when you realised the fight was at risk - who needs who."

So how do the potential rivals compare?

Paul turned 25 in January and is more than two years older than his British counterpart, who celebrated his 23rd birthday in May.

Both fighters have unblemished records - Fury is 8-0 and Paul is 5-0.

Of Fury's eight wins, four have been by KO, while four of Paul's five finished inside the distance.

Both fight with an orthodox stance - 6ft 1in Paul is an inch taller than Fury but 'TNT' has the longer reach, 80ins to 76ins.

The big one, though, is the Instagram followers and who would have the bigger fan base behind them cheering on from home.
