A RARE pair of trainers belonging to Michael Jordan have been put up for auction for a whopping $1million (£728,000).

Made in 1985, the mismatched iconic red, white and black sneakers are a size 13 and size 13.5 combination, which Jordan frequently wore during his glittering career.

The Air Jodan 1s were made famous during Jordan's rookie season with the Chicago Bulls.

A pair of his game-worn AJ1s from that year fetched a world-record sale at an online Sotheby's action last May as one fan purchased them for £460,000.

And those wishing to get their hands on this pair will have to fork out almost double that fee, but beware, there will be no free shipping included in the transaction.

, the likes of rapper Travis Scott and SpaceX founder Elon Musk are mulling over the possibility at bidding for the trainers.

Speaking during his hit documentary The Last Dance, Jordan revealed how his mother convinced him to sign with Nike in 1984 after he originally had his heart set on Adidas.

He stated: "My mother said, 'You're going to go listen. You may not like it, but you're going to go listen.'

"She made me get on that plane and go listen."

Jordan's dad then told him: "You'd have to be a fool, not taking this deal. This is the best deal."
