Lozano, nicknamed 'Chucky' in his homeland, will be part of the Mexican team hoping to defend their gold medal in Rio.

He added Lozano had already contacted relatives living in London for information on how to open a bank account in the UK.

Pachuca vice-president Andres Fassi also confirmed that the Red Devils had been scouting Lozano and chief scout Jim Lawlor had been to watch Lozano, who scored 12 goals in 47 games last season.

It was Lawlor who discovered Hernandez playing for Chivas Guadalajara six years ago before he moved to Old Trafford for £6million.

He said: "Already there is negotiations with that team? Yes. There is still nothing closed though."

Hernandez scored 59 goals from 157 appearances for United before then boss Louis van Gaal sold him to Bayer Leverkusen last year.
