Wimbledon 2016: Andy Murray given a shock as he driven to Centre Court for tie vs Yen-Hsun Lu by TV funnyman Jimmy Carr
The 2012 champion received an early wake-up call for today's match when the comedian turned up on his driveway
ANDY MURRAY got a shock when comedian Jimmy Carr turned up to drive him to SW19.
The British No1 faces Yen-Hsun Lu at Wimbledon on Thursday after downing compatriot Liam Broady in straight sets in round one.
And the 2012 champion received an early wake-up call for his Centre Court date when the funnyman turned up on his driveway.
Murray, 29, has not lost to his Taiwanese opponent in eight years.
But that did not stop his surprise chauffeur from handing out some ‘handy’ tactical advice – when he wasn’t commenting on yummy mummies and Ivan Lendl’s belly.
After arriving at the All England Club, Murray said: “We have a really close team and are often playing practical jokes on each other – this was definitely one of the better ones.
The Scot - who is the face of Jaguar's #FeelWimbledon campaign - added: “Tuesday’s match was the perfect start to my Wimbledon campaign.
“Today’s match against Lu Yen-Hsun will hopefully go the same way.
“The last time we met at Wimbledon was the year I won the tournament, so I have fond memories of that match.
“I’m playing some of my best-ever tennis, I’m feeling healthy and I’m hungry to win my second title at Wimbledon. I feel I’ve got a great chance this year.”
Avid tennis fan Carr, who was driving the new Jaguar F-PACE, said: “I look like Roger Federer’s weird younger brother so who better to take on the position of Jaguar’s ‘Secret Chauffeur’.
“I love everything about Wimbledon; the excitement, the crowd, the anticipation, the £15 punnets of strawberries.
“Now we are chums hopefully Andy will give me a wave in the crowd this time and make it extra special.”
