Lindsey Vonn splits from Canadian hockey star PK Subban after three-year relationship but pair ‘remain friends’

LINDSEY VONN has ended her three-year relationship with Canadian hockey star PK Subban.

The ex-Olympian, 36, dated Tiger Woods for two years before her relationship with the NHL ace.

But Subban, 31, announced the news on Instagram on Tuesday night and confirmed the pair are still friends.

He wrote: "Lindsey is one of the most kind and caring people I know.

"I will always treasure our time as a couple together and the many laughs we shared.

"After much consideration, we have decided to move forward separately.

"We will always remain friends and love each other immensely. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time."

Earlier this month Vonn hosted the 2020 Sports Illustrated awards, where she stunned in a red dress.

The ex-Olympian was co-hosting the event with Richard Jefferson, Cari Champion and Chad Johnson.

And at the filming in Las Vegas before it was live streamed on Saturday night, she stole the show.

The 36-year-old beauty took to Instagram for some behind-the-scenes footage, including the hosts messing around on the set.

She told her 2.1million followers: "So excited to host the first ever Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards!! Loved our dream team of hosts."

Vonn, from Minnesota, rose to sporting prominence when she made her skiing World Cup debut aged 16.

She won four World Cup overall championships and the downhill gold medal at Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics before retiring in 2019.

Vonn also used her high public profile to hit out at body-shaming trolls on social media.

The American shared a number of bikini pics from her holiday to celebrate her 36th birthday.

But after receiving some abuse online, she took to Instagram again to voice her thoughts.

Vonn wrote: "Even as an athlete there are ruthless comments and media stories that tear apart my body and I admit it sometimes hurts me.

"I’m a normal person and sometimes I slouch, my stomach folds over, my cellulite shows on my butt, or I don’t fill out my swimsuit top just right...

"But, I always remember how my body has helped me achieve amazing things in my life and I am proud of how strong I am. I’m not a size zero and that’s perfectly fine with me.

"One thing I can promise all of you is that I never Photoshop my photos and am proud to officially never had any plastic surgery of any kind.

"No Botox, no fillers, no mini surgeries. Literally nothing. I am 100 per cent natural and 100 per cent Lindsey.

"So to anyone who is feeling self conscious or down about their appearance; stay strong, stay healthy and love yourself no matter what the haters say.
