Relations with Europe have been frosty at best since the historic Brexit vote on Friday.
And Tusk was quick to take a swipe ahead of crunch talks with David Cameron and other EU leaders in Brussels today.
Adopting the famous phrase used in Game of Thrones to suggest doom is on the horizon, he tweeted: "UK-Iceland 1-2. Winter is coming."

The bungling bureaucrat followed that up saying: 'England, of course. Sorry ;-)."

The clarification was seized on by some followers who tore into the diplomat for making such an fundamental blunder.

Barry Burns said: 'Worrying that you dunno the difference between England and the UK. What's your job?'

Dair Allan added: 'It is an insult to the other countries of the United Kingdom.'

But others suggested it was another sly dig at Britain - and in particular the Scots who had voted to remain the European Union.

Raymond Southorn tweeted: 'We forgive you. Now get Scotland in the EU!'

Last night England crashed out of the Euros in a humiliating 2-1 loss to Iceland.

The loss, considered one of its worst ever victories, sparked delight among rival European nations.

Newspapers in Germany and Portugal likened it to 'Brexit 2', while others praised the heroic performance of the Iceland team.
