West Brom want to strike swap deal with West Ham and see Saido Berahino move to London and Diafra Sakho the other way
Both strikers want summer moves and both clubs are looking for more firepower, so potential deal could suit all involved
TWO WANTAWAY strikers could trade places if West Brom and West Ham can strike a deal.
The midlanders are reportedly keen to offer Saido Berahino in return for Sunderland target Diafra Sakho.
Sakho has told boss Slaven Bilic he wants to leave and his former West Ham manager, Sam Allardyce, wants the Senegal at the Stadium of Light.
But the Black Cats have already had two bids for Sakho turned down because they fell well short of the £15million the Hammers want.
Allardyce signed Sakho for the Hammers from Metz for £3.5million two years ago and he scored 12 times in 26 appearances in what was Big Sam’s final season in charge.
But last season was plagued with injury, and he found the back of the net just seven times in 24 games in what was Slaven Bilic’s first campaign as boss.
Everton, Stoke and Crystal Palace are also interested in Sakho.
But West Brom have joined the hunt and want to offer their unhappy former England under-21 man as part of a deal.
And the Baggies believe Bilic could be tempted, given he is on the lookout for adding more firepower to his attacking options.
Berahino, 22, who has a year left on his contract, has rejected a new offer worth more than £50,000 a week and made it clear he does not intend to change his mind.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis is also interested in another Hammer looking to move, Enner Valencia.
