Austin Williams will be thanking the racing gods after the terrifying crash in California on Saturday.
Speedway racer Austin Williams slides his car around the bend of the California dirt track in a qualifying run on Saturday evening
On a qualifying run at the Perris Auto Speedway track, Williams slides around the bend of a mudtrack before his car begins to topple over at frightening speeds.
The dirtcar flips several times before it catapults over the giant 22ft fence surrounding the track.
Spectators and officials race to the vehicle, fearing the worst after the monumental smash.
But incredibly Williams pulls himself out of the upturned car and trots off as if he had been involved in a minor bump.
The track confirmed Williams was unharmed in the smash - which was first time in the history of the circuit that a car had flipped over a safety fence.
Footage of the crash has been viewed more than 1.3million times after it was uploaded to Facebook.
Most were glad to see the driver walk away from the accident.
One commented: "Glad your okay Austin! You've got to admit, that was pretty sweet." (sic)
But another joked: "Glad to see driver walk away but I really think someone should sign him up for Olympic pole vault."
