Manchester United tackle Napoli and Barcelona for AS Monaco ace Fabinho
Brazilian defender could find himself following in Anthony Martial’s footsteps by leaving the French side for Old Trafford
MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly joined Napoli and Barcelona in the race to sign AS Monaco right-back Fabinho.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Napoli are deep in negotiations with the Brazilian, but the Red Devils and the Spanish champions are also interested.
The 22-year-old, who can also play in midfield, is one of Monaco’s key players and has established himself as one of the best and most reliable players in the French league.
The four-capped international, played 47 games in all competitions for Monaco last season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
Six of his goals came in Ligue 1 as Monaco finished third.
But now he could find himself following in Anthony Martial’s footsteps by leaving the French side for Old Trafford.
Incoming United boss Jose Mourinho has already started working on his defence by signing Eric Bailly from Villareal for £30million last week.
But Italian full-back Matteo Darmian might not feature in Mourinho’s revamp.
He has made just 39 United appearances since joining from Torino and looks like being one of the first casualties of Mourinho’s reign.
