A host of superstars were let go back in April, including the legendary Kurt Angle, as part of cost-cutting measures.

Now more changes are alleged to be in the offing, with WWE’s demanding touring schedule that takes them across the globe all year round set to dramatically cut back.

According to Dave Meltzer of , talks within WWE have already taken place to permanently cut back on the number of live shows produced, even after Covid becomes a less prominent issue.

This is most likely going to affect house shows, which are non-televised events, rather than the weekly episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

A host of superstars past and present have been vocal on how demanding WWE’s yearly schedule is.

Dustin Rhodes, who performed as Goldust before joining rival promotion AEW, revealed last year how negatively it affected his life.

He told : “The schedule is a lot different, so it takes some getting used to.

“We were on the road so much up there that you don't have any time at home with your family, and here, with AEW, I love it man!

“The scheduling is great. I leave Tuesday to go to the production meeting, Wednesday is TV, I come home Thursday, and whatever else I want to do I'm free to do, which I did not have that freedom to do anything that I wanted to do outside of wrestling up there.

“They made it very, very difficult, and that's one of the reasons why I left.”
