UFC legend Anderson Silva will retire after fighting Uriah Hall on Halloween, confirms president Dana White
ANDERSON SILVA will retire after his fight with Uriah Hall at Halloween, according to UFC president Dana White.
The 45-year-old legend is the oldest fighter on the UFC roster and had been linked with a showdown against Conor McGregor.

He is set to return to the octagon on October 31 to battle Hall but it seems it will be the final time we ever see the former middleweight champion in action.
White was quizzed about “The Spider’s” future after last night’s edition of his Contender Series.
And the chief confirmed it will be the last chapter of the Brazilian’s iconic career.
He said: “Yes, it will be his last fight. Yeah, it’s his last fight.”
Speaking earlier in the week, White explained: “Anderson Silva has two fights on his contract, but we agreed that that fight against Uriah Hall will be his retirement fight.

“That is an important fight for both of us. Uriah wants to fight for the belt, and a win against Anderson in his last fight would be incredible.”
Silva, whose record stands at 34 wins from his 45 MMA fights, has lost four out of his last five.
He suffered a leg injury before losing via TKO to Jared Cannonier in his last appearance at UFC 237.
The icon also brutally broke his leg against Chris Weidman in 2013.
But he still holds the record for the longest title reign in UFC history at 2,457 days.

It began in 2006 when he secured the middleweight crown from Rich Franklin and included 16 consecutive victories before he lost it to Weidman seven years ago.
White added while speaking to Combat: “His legacy is gigantic.
“Anderson Silva had a great career here, and he will be remembered as one of the best of all time.”
