GABRIEL MAGALHAES could have earned a lot more elsewhere rather than signing for Arsenal, according to his agent.
The 22-year-old Lille defender is on the verge of moving to the Gunners in a £25million deal.
He has agreed personal terms and already undergone a medical in North London.
However, it has emerged that the star was offered far more lucrative deals by other clubs.
Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were all keen on Magalhaes.
But talks with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Gunners chief Edu convinced the ace his future was at The Emirates.
The player’s agent Guilherme Miranda explained: “Arsenal was nowhere near the best proposal [money-wise].
“Gabriel chose them over more lucrative offers because Edu convinced us of the project.
“It’s 100 per cent because of Edu Gaspar and Arteta.”
Magalhaes is set to become Arsenal’s second signing of the summer.
