TIGER WOODS' 11-year-old son is already following in his father's footsteps as he won a junior golf tournament in Florida.

But he did not have his usual caddy on hand to help out - because dad Tiger was playing at the USPGA instead.

Charlie Woods swept aside the rest of the competition in the Under-11s event at the US Kids Golf-sanctioned event at Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Florida.

He secured a bogey-free round of three-under-par round of 33 across the nine holes to top the leaderboard by five clear strokes.

And the youngster did it all without his famous father on the bag to offer him one or two nuggets of wise advice.

Woods Sr was in San Francisco where he finished T37 at TPC Harding Park, 12 shots behind champion Collin Morikawa.

But Charlie had his dad back on caddying duties this weekend for another tournament.

Golf coach Derrick Payne caddied alongside Tiger and wrote on social media: "Surreal... just surreal. I have a 15+ year career in the golf business because of this one man right there. That's it. Without him I would have to get a real job.

"Special thanks to @cgafernandez for allowing me the opportunity to meet one of the best athletes of all time in such an intimate setting.

"Tiger and Charlie, both couldn't have been nicer. Just genuinely nice people. Can't say enough nice things about Jonah either... proud to carry your bag anytime.

"The fact that you didn't just shank the first teeball in front of Tiger freaking Woods is an accomplishment in itself."

Charlie's victory was even labelled "the second coming" .

One Twitter user said: "Imagine playing in a junior tournament and the caddie for your opponent is Tiger Woods."

The 44-year-old father previously said he had nightly putting contests with his son, and has spoken about the 11-year-old's interest in the sport.

Woods Sr told last month: "He’s starting to understand how to play. He’s asking me the right questions.

"I’ve kept it competitive with his par, so it’s been just an absolute blast to go out there and just, you know, be with him.

“I analyse his swing all the time. I wish I could rotate like that and turn my head like that and do some of those positions.

"But those days are long gone, and I have to relive them through him.”

In 2019, Tiger won a fifth Masters green jacket - and 15th major overall - in a remarkable sporting comeback story, suggesting that perhaps his golfing days aren't quite behind him yet.
