Neymar: Spanish prosecutors want Brazil captain’s transfer from Santos to Barcelona to be investigated for corruption

Prosecutors want the star tried for fraud after accusations that his big money move was concealed from a third party

NEYMAR could face a court case with Spanish prosecutors wanting to investigate the Brazil captain's move from Santos to Barcelona.

The 24-year-old star moved to the Nou Camp in 2013 and has become one of the world's best players.

However, prosecutors from Spain's highest criminal court believe Neymar was part of a scam to conceal the true cost of his transfer - so that a third party wouldn't get what they were owed.

A Brazilian investment fund is reported to have owned about 40 per cent of Neymar's rights from his time at Santos.

Neymar, his father Neymar Sr and former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell are all accused of playing a part in the fraud.

The Brazilian, who will miss the Copa America to play at the Olympics, has already appeared in court earlier this year.

The deal was originally said to have cost £43million with Santos only receiving £13m.

However, authorities estimate the total cost of the transfer to be around £63m.

Since moving to the Nou Camp in 2013, Neymar has won two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey twice, the Club World Cup and the Champions League.

He has scored 85 goals and added 38 assists in 141 matches for the club.
