VICNCE McMAHON has been slammed by ex-WWE star Rusev over the return of his son Shane.
Vince recently promised to promote new talent and Rusev has called out his hypocrisy after WWE veteran Shane McMahon was brought back.
Paul Heyman was replaced as head of creative earlier this year in order to help the company attract new audiences.
And at a shareholder meeting before Heyman's departure, big-wig Vince committed to bringing new talent through.
But then on August 3, WWE tweeted to announce Shane's return more than 20 years after he first appeared on screen.
The 50-year-old has been brought back to front Raw Underground.
And Rusev, who was released by WWE earlier this year, wasted no time in highlighting what he considered hypocrisy.
He tweeted: “We want to build new talent.' Shane is back! Sums it up."
At a shareholder meeting involving Heyman earlier this year Vince declared: "You want to continue to build stars no matter what time.
"It is so, as Paul just mentioned about NXT talent.
"He has done an extraordinary job of creating new stars, and as they continue to evolve, they’ll continue to come up to RAW and SmackDown,
“So there’s this influence of new superstars coming into both RAW and SmackDown, and in addition to that, the ways that we now promote talent in a more effective way, digital and social media, as opposed to the normal way.”
Fans online seemed split about the outburst.
One wrote: "Right now, it's all about ratings and Shane coming bk to Raw puts eyes on the product. How they use the remaining 2hrs 40mins of the show is the question."
Another added: "Need new talent to work with established stars at some point to help get over. Problem is that rarely happens."
Other described Shane as "the ship that has sailed" and "kinda weird".
