Arsenal hit ‘new low’ as they give Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain guard of honour leaving fans feeling ‘f***ing sick’
ARSENAL fans raged as their side gave former Gunner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a guard of honour at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta‘s players clapped tonight’s opponents Liverpool onto the field as is customary when a team wins the Premier League before the end of the season.
But for supporters it was too much to see one of their former stars applauded onto the park having left and gone on to win the league elsewhere.
One disheartened fan suggested it was a “new low” for their side.

He tweeted: “New low for Arsenal football club, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gets a guard of honour at the Emirates Stadium.”
Another went even further and said: “Oxlade Chamberlain getting a guard of Honour at the Emirates???? I’m f***ing sick”
Oxlade-Chamberlain was given a rare start in the centre of midfield on his return to his old stomping ground.
The England ace swapped the red of Arsenal for the red of Liverpool back in 2017.
He moved to Anfield in a £40million deal and signed a bumper five-year contract to play under Jurgen Klopp.
During his time at the club so far the Reds have won the 2019 Champions League before ending the 30-year wait for a league title this season.
It was tough to watch for one supporter as he commented: “Think giving Oxlade-Chamberlain a guard of honour is what finally pushes me over the edge.”
Another Gooner added: “The humiliation of giving Ox a guard of honour goddamn.
“Why does this happen to us so often.
“Sell player, watch them win the league, clap for them when they visit their old ground.”
It is not the first time Arsenal have had to dish out a royal welcome for an old player.
Robin van Persie infamously received the same VIP treatment after he returned with new side Manchester United as a league winner seven years ago.
Unlike Oxlade-Chamberlain, fans were able to boo Van Persie when he strode out as a champion with the Red Devils just months after leaving the previous summer.
