Tesco key worker Brad Foster bags British title belt for life after making third successful defence of Londsdale strap

BRAD FOSTER can add the British title to his countless bags for life after bagging the belt forever.

Foster - who worked night shifts at Tesco throughout his fight camp - needed three defences of the Lonsdale strap to hold on to it for life.

And the part-time key worker got the job done on points over local rival James Beech, retaining his Commonwealth title as well.

After the points win, super-bantamweight Foster said: "This was one of my goals coming into boxing and I've done it tonight, it means the world.

"I got the win and took these belts home, thats the main thing." 

Before the bout, Beech likened his previous sparring sessions with Foster to trying to fight a wasp.

And the champion proved to be the quicker puncher with more sting in the opening sessions, working well on the inside.

Beech was cut in round four as the fight began to swing Foster's way.

But as Beech was able to start telegraphing the vicious attacks coming his way, he was able to start landing with his own telling blows.

Foster might have thought he had Beach tiring down the stretch but still the pair traded blow for blow in a fight that would have pleased any crowd.

As the fight went to the championship rounds in front of an empty BT Sport studio, Foster upped his product enough to run away with the verdict, proving his championship quality.
