Making his Marc

Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford has had a better first season at the club than Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial

England call-up has more impressive minutes per goal ratio than some of Old Trafford's greatest ever forwards

MARCUS RASHFORD has had a far more successful first season at Manchester United than Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney and even Cristiano Ronaldo had.

The youngster, 18, has been such a revelation for Louis van Gaal’s side this term — coming into the team in February — he’s even earned himself a call-up for England’s Euro 2016 squad.

Not only that, but he’s netted five crucial Premier League goals, including a match-winning brace against Arsenal and the winner against Manchester City.

Rashford also netted against Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the league — proving himself to be a rare bright spot in an otherwise poor season under LVG.

His five strikes came at an average 172.2 minutes apiece — which is better than a host of Old Trafford superstars.

The United and England man is ahead of other 2015-16 rookie Anthony Martial, who netted 11 goals at 239.27 minutes per go.

But more impressively are the rest of the names he topples based on numbers from their respective Man United debut seasons.

Rashford is ahead of Carlos Tevez, Rooney, Eric Cantona, Teddy Sheringham, Dimitar Berbatov, Radamel Falcao and miles ahead of Ronaldo.

These days, Real Madrid’s world-beating CR7 has bested almost every record known to man as he continues to thrive in a personal duel with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

But in his first season in Manchester, he scored just four times at 387 minutes each.

Back to Rashford, he’s cracked the top ten all-time United forwards, sitting eighth, behind only deadly duo Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, as well as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Louis Saha, Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez.

One name tops the lot however, as Ruud van Nistelrooy enjoyed a sublime opening term at Old Trafford, netting 23 goals at just 111.09 minutes per strike.

One thing is for sure, Man United fans will be keen to see what Rashford can do not only at the European Championships in France, but also next season... His first full Premier League campaign.
