Arsenal’s Calum Chambers is a Belieber — and wants the pop star to sing England’s Euro 2016 anthem
Full-back thinks Justin Bieber can croon the Three Lions to glory
ARSENAL full-back Calum Chambers is officially a Belieber — and wants the pop star to sing England's anthem ahead of Euro 2016.
The Bieber-besotted defender has been mooted for inclusion in Roy Hodgson's Euro 2016 squad.
And during an interview at the Nike kit launch, Chambers said he wants the Canadian superstar to croon a tune for the Three Lions ahead of the tournament.
Asked who he would like to see record an England song for this summer's European Championships, Chambers looked embarrassed.
Then the 21-year-old did the unthinkable and came out as a Belieber.
He declared: "I'm probably going to get stick for this, but I'm going to say Justin Bieber.”
Cheeky Sport interviewers 'Joel and Dave' looked taken aback.
And Joel replied, laughing: "Justin Beebs! Yes! Who would have thought it?"
Not us, Joel.
England have to get a shift on if they want an anthem in time for the tournament.
Wales have already confirmed a partnership with Manic Street Preachers to herald their first major competition in half a century.
And if Biebs were to snub Chambers, the former Southampton star admitted England might have to settle for one of their own players on the mic.
Asked which of the current England squad would put themselves up for recording a song, he replied: "Joe Hart. He’s got the confidence to do it."
Hart might be good, Calum, but Biebs is head and shoulders over him.
