Boxing bad boy Adrien Broner announces he is now a full-time rapper as he won’t be getting £8m to fight again

ADRIEN BRONER says he has quit boxing to become a “full-time rapper”.

The controversial 30-year-old took the decision because he “can’t earn $10million (£8m)” in sport.

The boxer has not fought since losing on points to Manny Pacquiao back in January 2019

Broner last fought in January last year when he was outpointed by Manny Pacquiao,

He was fuming at not getting the decision and announced his retirement.

And seemingly his new profession is now in the music industry with a new name too – ‘Twin’.

Broner uploaded an expletive-ridden video to his Instagram account, saying: “I ain’t gonna lie, I been staying in Cincinnati for about the last month, and this s*** done changed me all the way back.

“I ain’t AB no more. When y’all see me don’t call me AB, I’m ‘Twin’. This s*** changed me all the way back to ‘Twin.’

“This s*** over with. They ain’t talking about my $10 million, Al Haymon and Stephen Espinoza, they ain’t hit me up, they ain’t talking bout my 10, so I’m ‘Twin’.

“F*** that, I’m a rapper, full-time rapper, I told y’all that.”

Broner, who has been in trouble with the law on numerous occasions in the past, then worryingly said he might “rob” someone.

He added: “So anybody that think they gonna disrespect and talk crazy to me, don’t do it because I’m at the point right now where I might rob you.

“I might rob you. I’m just being honest. Just because. I’m back.

“The streets don’t respect nothing but violence anyway. I’m safe out here, I feel way more comfortable out here.”

In March Broner was arrested for driving under the influence in Miami Beach.

That was just the latest in a long line of run-ins with the law by the former lightweight and light welterweight champion of the world.

Broner was twice accused of sexual assault in 2019.

The first of these accusations saw him arrested in Atlanta in February last year for allegedly groping a woman at a shopping mall.

And four months later he was again arrested, this time in Cleveland for throwing himself on a woman at a nightclub and forcing her to kiss him.

RUN-INS WITH THE LAW

The man once dubbed by Floyd Mayweather as “About Billions” was found guilty of the offence in Cleveland, and made to pay around £675,000 in damages to the victim.

He was arrested in 2008 for allegedly intimidating a witness before charges were later dismissed.

Broner, nicknamed ‘The Problem’, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in 2013 and was also charged with battery in Miami that same year.

He was arrested on a bench warrant stemming from that case in April and the matter remains unresolved.

Broner was then cited for misdemeanour battery after allegedly choking a Las Vegas waitress three years ago.

Also in 2016 he was charged with aggravated robbery in Hamilton County, Ohio, and accused of robbing a bystander at a bowling alley.

Broner has an impressive 33-4 record in his career – but the fading star hasn’t won a fight since 2017.
