Usain Bolt becomes dad for first time as partner Kasi Bennett gives birth to girl… but Jamaican PM lets slip over baby

USAIN BOLT has become a father for the first time after his long-time partner Kasi Bennett gave birth to a baby girl.

The eight-time Olympic Gold medallist is yet to share the name of his daughter, but news of the delivery was announced by Jamaican prime minister Andrew Holness on Monday.

Holness tweeted: "Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl."

The happy couple hosted a luxury gender reveal party back in March which featured fireworks and a huge celebrity guest list, after which Bolt told fans he is set to become a "girl dad."

The sprint legend, 33, has been dating Bennett, four years his junior, since 2014 but the pair only went public in 2016.

Bolt confirmed his girlfriend was pregnant in January when he posted an Instagram photo of her in a flowing red dress cradling her baby bump.

In the caption, he added the words: "'I just want to say a KING or QUEEN is about to be HERE."

BOLT FROM THE BLUE

Kasi, who lives in Jamaica, is an avid social media user and fashionista, currently boasting 345,000 followers on Instagram.

Bolt meanwhile retired from the track following the 2017 World Championships in London after suffering a hamstring injury in his final race.

He is an 11-time world champion and remains the only man in history to win gold medals at three successive Olympics, in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

The Jamaican also holds world records in the 100m and 200m events having clocked 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds respectively at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

Bolt has admitted in the past that the burden of living up to his legacy might prevent him from pushing any of his children to pursue athletics.

He said: "That's going to be hard for my kid.

"If they want to do it, I'm fine with it. But initially, I'm going to say don't do it, because I know the pressure that will come along with it."
