Fallon Sherrock narrowly misses out on new darting history as Glen Durrant rescues Premier League draw

ARROWS queen Fallon Sherrock put another man to the sword in Robin Hood land to almost create another slice of darting folklore.

The Pink Princess had Glen Durrant on the ropes but eventually drew 6-6 as she became the first woman to play in the Unibet Premier League in Nottingham last night.

Dubbed the “Sherrock of Nottingham”, she led Duzza 6-4 but couldn’t hang on, just two months after beating a man for the first time in the World Championships.

But it was another dazzling display from the Milton Keynes mum-of-one. She said: “I loved every minute of it. I’m so happy I get to play on the big stage again.

“I’m speechless, I can’t thank everyone enough. I’m getting opportunities opening up all the time. I can’t wait for the future. I’m loving this. I’m just so happy I didn’t lose.”

Durrant said: “The crowd were fantastic. They didn’t put me off up there. It was a big challenge. Big credit to Fallon, what a couple of months for her.

“That was the toughest game I’ve ever had. The credit goes to Fallon.”

Sherrock was given another spine-chilling walk-on welcome and the sell-out venue was clearly on her side.

Durrant was king party pooper and dealt with the early booing with a deadpan opening leg win after a shaky start from his rival.

But the Pink Princess was back in business with tops to level it up and the Motorpoint Arena went wild. It got even better with a sensational 168 set-up and double eight finish to once again level it up at 2-2.

A messy bag of finishing from both players was eventually cleaned up with Sherrock with a nerveless and awkward double nine and it was all-square again.

Suddenly the Milton Keynes marvel set the arena alight, breaking the Durrant throw with a 12-darter 92 finish on double 18, following a cracking bull shot to take the lead for the first time.

Now Duzza’s composure was wobbling and missed three darts for parity and Sherrock mopped up with 60 with tops for a two-leg lead at 5-3.

The Boro battler then defied the boos to nail double 16 and then missed another three darts as Sherrock secured a draw with double 18.

However, Durrant kept his cool to take out the final two legs and a cool 70 finish to silence the jeers and deny Sherrock another famous win.
