Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte pulled apart after angry bust-up during gym training with Wladimir Klitschko

DILLIAN WHYTE revealed he and Anthony Joshua had to be pulled apart after an angry bust-up during training in Wladimir Klitschko’s camp.

Joshua and Whyte were used as sparring partners for former heavyweight ruler Klistchko in 2014 when the Londoners were just rookie professionals.

The duo had been rivalling since they met in a 2009 amateur bout, which AJ lost on points.

And they almost came to blows in Klitschko’s Austrian training camp, with the pair being split up before a fight outside the ropes broke out.

Whyte told : "I wanted to punch Joshua up, at first, because he was talking a lot of smack.

"There was genuine annoyance there. Bashir [Ali] and a couple of guys stopped me getting at him and then it sort of got squashed. It was a bit edgy.

"(Klitschko) was friendly with the likes of Joshua. They are very similar in their mindset and their behaviour.

“You know me, I was just a bit of a street thug then. I was just thinking, I'm not getting knocked out."

Whyte claimed sparring partners were being knocked out left, right and centre - including current unbeaten WBC champion Wilder.

Determined to make a name for himself, and avoid being another Klitschko victim, the Brit took it to the Ukrainian - which resulted in him being kicked out of the camp.

He said: "I was just trying to learn, and then I saw him knocking people out.

“I was thinking 'you ain't f***ing knocking me out.' I went in there and I went after him.

"I went in there and started roughing him up and having a proper fight with him. I got sent home for that.”

Whyte - who was beaten by Joshua in their rematch in the pro ranks in 2015 - is still searching for a world title, which are all held by Joshua and Wilder.

He said: "You know what? I'm going to become a world champion.

"I have the mindset, I have the hunger, and I'm good enough. I still haven't peaked yet, I'm still getting better."
