Fallon Sherrock to team with Italy footy icon Luca Toni in Celebrity Darts World Cup after pulling out of BDO tournament

ALLY PALLY QUEEN Fallon Sherrock will be back in action this weekend in Germany after pulling out of the BDO tournament.

And she will be teaming with Italian football legend Luca Toni, 42, as the duo aim to lift the Celebrity Darts World Cup.

The event begins tomorrow and will also include fellow arrow throwers Michael van Gerwen, Max Hopp and Gerwyn Price.

Each darts player will team up with a celebrity, with Sherrock landing the huge 6ft 4in former Bayern Munich, Roma and Juventus striker as hers.

The star threw the entire BDO World Darts Championship into doubt this week when announcing her withdrawal.

Sherrock opted to walk away from the new event at the Indigo at London’s O2 Arena after the British Darts Organisation controversially slashed the prize pool.

Female players had been promised a world record purse of £20k for winning the world title on January 12.

But that figure was cut to just £8k due to the BDO struggling financially following poor ticket sales and rising TV production costs.

The 25-year-old, celebrated for beating two men at the PDC World Darts Championship, was set to play close pal Corrine Hammond from Australian in the first round on Saturday afternoon.

Now instead she will pocket a tidy fee, expected to be a lot more than the £8k prize pot on offer in the capital, overseas.
