Arsenal injury news: Will Xhaka return to face Southampton and is Ceballos sidelined for Emirates clash?
THE guillotine is fast approaching on Unai Emery's head with the Arsenal boss on the brink of being booted out of the Emirates Stadium.
With no wins in the last five matches in all competitions, the Gunners are now battling amongst each other and with the fans as their season descends into chaos.
Just two points from a possible 12 in their last four Premier League fixtures has seen the North Londoners drop to sixth and a massive eight points off the coveted top four.
So who could Emery be without as he looks to regain the fans' faith and finally end the winless run?
Will Xhaka return to face Southampton?
There has been no official word that the former Gunners captain will be back in the team - but it feels like Granit Xhaka has already played his final match for Arsenal.
The midfielder has not featured for his club since infamously telling the fans to "f*** off" in their 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
He released a statement shortly after, claiming that he was hurt by alleged verbal abuse from the supporters in which they 'wished his daughter got cancer' and would 'kill his wife'.
Xhaka has since been left out of all matchday squads for Arsenal and lost the captain's armband - yet stirred the pot once again while on international duty with Switzerland.
The 27-year-old posted a photo in his Swiss kit with the message: "Happiness is when you are satisfied with yourself and don't need the confirmation of others."
Xhaka has been linked with moves to Newcastle United and even a return to Borussia Monchengladbach.
But signs right now are that the Swiss star will not be featuring this weekend.
Who else is injured for Arsenal?
Reiss Nelson looks set for return to action after netting during the international break for the England Under-21s.
That leaves Dani Ceballos as the only injury concern when the Gunners welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium.
The Spaniard has been nursing a thigh problem and will face a race to be fit, where he will likely begin on the bench.
