Khabib’s dad gives green light to blockbuster fight against Floyd Mayweather with Lomachenko Sr to train UFC champ

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV'S dad has talked up a possible bout between his son and Floyd Mayweather once the UFC lightweight champion has got his next fight out of the way.

The unbeaten Russian is in talks to defend his belt against Tony Ferguson in either March or April next year as he looks to extend his perfect record to 29-0.

And Khabib's father Abdulmanap has given the 31-year-old the green light to face the retired Mayweather, though he stressed he will need a boxing camp with Vasyl Lomachenko's dad Anatoly.

Taking to Instagram, Abdulmanap posted a picture of the Eagle and the 1996 Olympic bronze medallist alongside a quote from Mayweather that stated he would be willing to fight Khabib.

Captioning the photo, he said: "Floyd, I respect your wish to fight Khabib.

"At the moment we have our most crucial moment, when he have to hold the best fight in the history of the UFC.

"Twelve against 12 in a series of victories (in the UFC) and all the fans are waiting for this fight.

"We’ve been preparing for this fight for more than a year. Five months and the fight (with Ferguson) should take place.

"First of all we will need to do some boxing training and we need a camp – with Lomachenko Sr for half a year. Why not!!!"

Khabib's manager Ali Abdelaziz revealed in the summer that Mayweather is "running out of money" and has been "begging" to face the MMA star in a boxing match.

He told : "Floyd Mayweather to this day keeps begging to fight Khabib, begging!

“Floyd’s running out of money.

“I'm telling you, people reaching out to me every week about Floyd to fight Khabib but at the end of the day, we're not interested, for now.”
