Sales of ‘amazing-looking’ budget smartwatch soar by 53% on Amazon as price is cut from £100 to £30
AMAZON has slashed the cost a budget smartwatch by 70% and it's become a best-seller on the site.
Shoppers are going mad for the Zakoutu Fitness Smartwatch, which has dropped from £99.99 to £29.99.

I spotted this red-hot wearable deal on Amazon's page, which charts all the tech and gadgets that have boomed in popularity in the last 24 hours.
Sales have shot up by 53% on this budget-end smartwatch.
First things first: while it may bear a more-than-passing resemblance to the Apple Watch, this cheap-as-chips wearable won't match it in terms of features and performance.

I'll be honest and say that if you're a committed gym buff, you're probably better off buying from a better-known wearable brand like Fitbit - you'll find .
But these lower-end devices are band-style fitness trackers, not smartwatches. For a proper watch, you'd be looking at (it's currently on sale for 25% less).
This discounted smartwatch from Zakotu is all about looks and style - and if that's what you're after, it's clearly the thriftier option.
Zakotu may not be a household name, but regardless of its reputation, this fitness and exercise wearable has racked up a pretty long list of positive reviews on the Amazon website.

That's isn't to say its functions should be ignored - for instance, you can use it to display messages and notifications from your phone.
On top of that, you can make and receive calls provided your phone is close enough for the Bluetooth connection.
Shoppers on Amazon seem happy enough with the device. Some buyers have expressed niggles around some glitches and pairing issues, but the general consensus is that's an attractive-looking piece of kit.
One buyer says: 'Amazing-looking... Easy to connect with phone and make [and] receive phone calls. Great sounds. All functions are good and useful. Recommend this product.'
Another customer writes: 'My daughter loves the watch... No issues wearing it to school. It's sturdy and looks great. Has many features including calling and messages. Would recommend.'
If you are in the market for something more high-end, from the likes of Samsung or Apple perhaps, you might want to hold off your spending until mid-July.
That's when the next Amazon Prime Day sale is taking place (it's not been confirmed but it's been happening every year at that time since the first sale in 2015).
This two-day sale sees prices slashed across thousands of items on the Amazon site for 48 hours - but of course, you'll need to be to get these deals.
