GRACE & Stella is one of the first brands that springs to mind when I think of TikTok-famous skincare.

This relatively young brand, launched in 2016, has managed to carve a niche for itself as the place to buy affordable under-eye masks.

Despite its playful aesthetic, Grace & Stella products are reportedly super effective, amassing countless 5-star reviews on Amazon and TikTok.

But does Grace & Stella live up to the hype? I decided to put its most popular product — the — to the test.

Are they a genuine game-changer, or just a pretty prop for your next skincare shelfie?

How I tested

At this point, I’m an under-eye patch connoisseur.

I've tried everything from expensive celebrity-loved 111SKIN masks to affordable Garnier options. They’re a staple in my skincare routine.

I’ve previously tried Grace & Stella’s Purple Eye Masks and Pink Eye Masks, and have been pretty impressed with the results. However, I've never the bestselling Energizing Eye Masks.

I tested these under-eye masks daily for a week, to gauge both instant effects and changes over time.

Grace and Stella eye mask review: quick summary

Grace & Stella’s Eye Masks are a standout for anyone looking to depuff and revive tired eyes without breaking the bank.

The cooling gel feels incredibly soothing, especially if you refrigerate it beforehand. The patches stick well to your skin, allowing you to wear them while doing light tasks.

While they won’t completely banish dark circles, they reduce puffiness, boost hydration and smooth your under-eye area, making you look more refreshed.

They're perfect if you struggle with puffy under-eyes from long nights, early mornings or genetics, but don’t want to invest in expensive solutions.

If dark circles or fine lines and wrinkles are your main concern, however, these masks might not deliver drastic changes.

Value-wise, bulk purchases through Grace & Stella’s website or Amazon are your best bet, offering significant savings.

Subscribing through Grace & Stella’s site gives you a 25% discount, but the £6 shipping fee can add up.

Shopping on Amazon is probably a better deal for those with Amazon Prime since you’ll get free and faster shipping.

In summary, these eye masks are an affordable way to reduce puffiness, retain moisture and brighten the under-eye area. They're a solid addition to any skincare routine.

If you’re new to using eye masks, start with a smaller pack to see if they suit your needs, then stock up through a subscription.

First impressions

Grace & Stella's packaging is an eye-catching blend of pink and gold, designed to appeal to the Gen Z aesthetic.

Though compact and seemingly small, the box is deceptively spacious, holding an impressive 24 pairs of eye masks.

At first glance, I would have guessed it only contained about 12 pairs, which was pleasantly surprising.

The instructions are clear and straightforward, printed both on the box and the individual mask packets for convenience.

Grace & Stella also displays its catchy slogan, “It’s like an energy drink for your eyes,” prominently.

To open the mask packets, simply tear along the marked “open here, this side up” line. Be mindful of orientation — if opened upside down, the serum can spill and create a mess. Once open, carefully slide out the tray and gently lift each mask to apply under your eyes.

Overall, the packaging is thoughtfully designed for effortless use, eliminating unnecessary complexities. (I've seen other brands go as far as to include tongs for eye mask application).

It’s everything you need for a seamless experience.

Performance

The instant I put these masks on, they hit me with an incredibly soothing cooling sensation.

The effect is especially punchy if you’re under the weather or battling a hangover.

The cooling effect alone is enough to make you want to keep these masks stocked. They're a little shot of TLC.

I left them on for the recommended 15-20 minutes and was pleasantly surprised when they stayed in place without slipping and sliding. This is a problem I've experienced with other eye masks.

This meant I could get on with some light housework like ironing and tidying up without constantly adjusting them.

Don’t expect to be doing star jumps with these masks on, but they can certainly handle a few household errands.

As for the results, don’t expect a dramatic transformation of dark circles.

These masks work more subtly, targeting puffiness and deeply hydrating the under-eyes. This surge of moisture helps to plump and smooth out fine lines, much like a good eye cream would.

The inclusion of sea moss also provides a brightening effect, making your under-eyes appear refreshed and glowing.

They won't get rid of dark circles, which are mostly caused by things like genes, ageing, tiredness and lifestyle. However, they can make the area under your eyes look more awake and less puffy.

These masks work best for a quick boost, reducing puffiness and adding moisture.

How much are the Grace & Stella Energizing Eye Masks?

Grace & Stella eye masks are a great, cost-effective option delivering a similar experience to pricier brands like 111SKIN.

You can buy them in bulk without breaking the bank, with a pack of 24 available for £21 and a pack of 48 going for £28.

If you opt for the pack of 48, you’re spending around 58p per mask. Plus, if you subscribe you can save an extra 25% and get a pack of 24 for £12.75 and a pack of 48 for £18.

That’s one mask for 53p if you choose the 24-pack on subscription, or 38p when you subscribe to a 48-pack.

And right now, the masks are on sale, with the 24-pack selling for £17 and the 48-pack selling for £24.

Where to buy Grace and Stella eye masks

You can purchase Grace & Stella masks directly from the brand's website. However, UK shipping will cost an additional £5.99.

Subscribing through the site is the best option if you’re looking for significant savings, as you can get a 25% discount.

However, even with the discount, you’ll still have to pay £6 for shipping, and it remains standard two to four-day delivery.

If you're a Prime member, buying from Amazon is the best choice; you get free delivery, and there are still opportunities to subscribe and save.

For example, you can currently subscribe to a 24-pack for £15.75 or a 48-pack for £23.35 and have them delivered by tomorrow.

Grace and Stella eye mask alternatives

Grace & Stella’s eye masks hold their own, largely thanks to their gel texture, which feels similar to high-end options like 111SKIN.

The gel material is great for getting that extra cooling sensation by storing them in the fridge. This also makes them even more effective at de-puffing.

While cloth or cotton eye masks like Garnier’s can also be stored in the fridge, they aren’t as effective at staying cold. (Cloth masks tend to absorb more serum, making them excessively wet and incapable of staying consistently cool).

Grace & Stella is also much cheaper than other brands on the market.

While you can purchase Grace & Stella masks for just 38p a mask, an 8-pack of 111SKIN’s Celestial Black Diamond Eye Masks will set you back a whopping £85.

Meanwhile, one pair of eye masks from Garnier costs £3.49.

Grace and Stella eye mask review: the verdict

These masks have become a skincare cabinet staple for me.

I reached for them the other day when I was feeling run down and had a first date, and they truly improved the appearance of my under-eyes and, in turn, my confidence.

They don't erase dark circles or eye bags completely, but significantly reduce puffiness and create a smooth, hydrated, and plump base for makeup.

They left me looking more awake and refreshed, and I’ll be keeping them close by for all occasions.

Grace & Stella’s eye masks truly live up to their promise of being “an energy drink for your eyes.”

Just like a quick boost from Red Bull, they won’t replace sleep, but they will effectively mask the signs of fatigue, making them a great pick-me-up.

For those dealing with late nights, early mornings, or naturally puffy under-eyes, these masks offer a quick and affordable solution.

I’d recommend starting with a single box to see if they work for you, and if you’re a fan, consider subscribing in bulk on the Grace & Stella website or at Amazon.
