Hairstory review: will I really never have to buy traditional shampoo ever again?
WHAT if we told you that you'd never have to buy traditional shampoo and conditioner ever again?
Well, Hairstory's New Wash Original is a detergent-free shampoo and conditioner replacement, washing and moisturising your hair all in one without stripping it of essential oils.
Using New Wash to clean your hair apparently helps your mane require less frequent hair washes and fewer post-wash treatments and styling creams, too.
As someone who has to wash their hair three times a week to avoid grease, I really had no choice but to trial New Wash and here's how it went.

Hairstory New Wash shampoo review: full review
First off, just knowing that there is nothing harmful in Hairstory's New Wash is an immediate win. It's sulfate-free, and uses essential oils to cleanse your hair and scalp, rather than a cocktail of chemicals like your classic shampoo and conditioner.
The whole aim of Hairstory is to transform your hair so it looks its healthiest, while also saving you time and money because you don't need to wash your hair as much.
It's not the fanciest packaging in the world — just like the formula, the packet is minimal, in the shape of a Capri-Sun.
As my hair is naturally frizzy, my main concern about using New Wash was that I wasn't going to be using conditioner. However, the oh-so soft texture of it makes you feel as though you are.
I used the scalp brush () to massage it in so that it really got to my scalp as a lot of grease can come from you not having a clean scalp.
After the first use, my hair definitely felt lighter than usual and smelled amazing. The real results came once I stuck to it, using it twice a week for my hair wash.
This product definitely works well as a combined shampoo and conditioner because your hair feels clean and moisturised, but our only fault is that we tried out the 8oz pack which was gone in a month, so we'd definitely go for one of the bigger sizes next time.
Plus, once your hair gets used to it, the less you actually need it so it will probably be more longer-lasting the more you make it a part of your routine.

Is Hairstory good for curly hair?
From experience, Hairstory is great for curly hair.
If you have wavy or frizzy hair then you know the struggle of finding products to suit you, especially as a lot of them can ruin your ringlets.
My curls looked fresh and bouncy after a few weeks of using New Wash.
Even if your hair isn't curly, it has been tested on every hair type so you can rely on it for lighter, softer tresses.
Is Hairstory vegan?
Hairstory uses keratain, protein made from sheep's wool, which means it's not vegan. However, other than that it's a plant-based formula.
It might not be vegan, but Hairstory does pride itself on being entirely cruelty-free.
