I’ve tested hundreds of cleansers but Rhode’s new Pineapple Refresh may be my favourite yet – it gives soft, smooth skin
Rhode is taking the beauty world by storm, and I've been trying out the latest launch from Hailey Bieber's viral skincare brand.
Following on from best sellers like Peptide Lip Treatment and Glazing Milk, Rhode has just launched its first facial cleanser: Pineapple Refresh Daily Cleanser – and I'm obsessed.

Cleansers are the first stage in any skincare routine, and claims to have a "balm-to-lather" texture that removes dirt and impurities without stripping the skin.
The key ingredients in the formula are polyglutamic acid (a hydrator that works similarly to hyaluronic acid), antioxidant green tea extract and pineapple enzyme, which gives a mild exfoliating action.
may have only just launched but it's already collecting five-star reviews online with shoppers calling it "amazing" and "magical" – so I just had to try it out for myself.

As a beauty editor, I've tried hundreds of face cleansers over the years, from balms and oils to creams and micellar waters, so I was keen to see how this one fared.
On first impressions, I thought it might be too drying on my skin (which is a good few years older than Mrs Bieber's).

has a gel-like texture and I sometimes find gel cleansers can strip my skin, and the addition of pineapple enzyme made me think that it would tingle on the skin or sting my eyes.

However, I couldn't have been more wrong.
lathers up when water is added, but it's a rich, velvety type of foam that feels creamy and comforting on the skin.
It doesn't sting or irritate eyes at all, and doesn't leave skin feeling 'squeaky clean' (a sign that too much of your skin's natural oils have been stripped away).
Once rinsed off and my face was patted dry, my skin felt amazing – soft, smooth and comfortable, and neither oily nor dry.
This will remove SPF and light face makeup but it's not one for tackling stubborn mascara, and so for that reason, I'll be using it as a morning cleanse in the shower and a second cleanse in the evening, after removing makeup with a balm or oil-type cleanser.
If I could make one improvement to it, it would be a flip-up lid instead of a screw-on one, which would make it easier to use in the shower.
At £28, the price isn't the cheapest, but a little does go a long way, and I would repurchase it the next time I'm doing a Rhode order.
Rhode is currently only available to buy directly from the brand's , and shipping is free on orders over £95 if you're thinking about doing a big shop.
