Black Friday falls on November 29 this year - the day after Thanksgiving in the US.
In the past, it used to mean waking up at the crack of dawn to force your way through a crowded supermarket, retail park, or high street store in search of a bargain.
However, now it's more about building a wish list and keeping an eye on your favourite shops from the start of November, whether that's instore or online.
Black Friday deals often continue through the weekend and come to a close on Cyber Monday (unless they sell out before of course).
If you've ever wondered about the orgin of the Black Friday, our handy explainer reveals all.
Is Nintendo taking part in Black Friday this year?
Nintendo has taken part in Black Friday in the past, so we'd be surprised if they didn't do so again in 2024.
That said, if you're crossing your fingers for a massive price drop on consoles, you might want to manage those expectations, past sales have only offered minor discounts on them.
You'll tend to find better-value games and accessories rather than huge discounts on the console itself, which can be a great thing if you already own a device and want to beef up your gaming library.
Also, keep an eye out for bundles (consoles packaged with games), they’re often the best bang for your buck.
What to expect from Nintendo’s Black Friday sale 2024
Shoppers can expect to score deals on the Nintendo Switch OLED, original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and, of course, bundles from various retailers.
We're also expecting to see games and accessories slashed during the Black Friday sales.
Remember, it's also worth checking out Black Friday deals from retailers such as Amazon, Very, and Argos, as well as the Nintendo store.

When is Cyber Monday 2024 and is Nintendo taking part?
This year Cyber Monday falls on December 2.
Deals that start on Black Friday generally continue across the weekend and into Cyber Monday, though some retailers do hold back discounts, especially for that day.
Cyber Monday used to mark the last day of the sales extravaganza, but in recent years many retailers continue their offers into December, which is great for Christmas gifting.
Originally Cyber Monday bargains were online only, but now you’ll find offers in-store on the day too - giving you an extra opportunity to bag a bargain.
Nintendo has been known to participate in Cyber Monday sales in the past, so we're hoping that the brand follows a similar sales schedule this time around.
Our 'when is Cyber Monday?' page has everything you need to know about the last day of the huge retail sale.

There are two different ways to charge a Nintendo Switch controller.
The first is by attaching them to the Joy-Con charging grip.
Simply connect the Joy-Con charging grip to the Nintendo Switch dock using the USB cable that is included - this will charge them both.
Alternatively, you can attach the controllers to the console itself and charge them that way.
It takes approximately three hours and 30 minutes to fully charge the Joy-Con controllers.

Yes, you can use Bluetooth audio devices such as earbuds, headphones, and speakers with the Nintendo Switch.
