Inside Princess Beatrice’s second pregnancy – resting in 6-bed £3.5m pad, visits to scandal-hit Andrew & £10k birth plan
PRINCESS Beatrice will soon be welcoming her second child with property developer husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The 36-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced in October that she was pregnant and expecting a baby in spring.
The couple welcomed daughter Sienna, three, in 2021 - but Edoardo also has son Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie, eight, from a previous relationship.
Buckingham Palace announced the happy news alongside an image of loved-up Bea and Ed.
They said in a statement: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three."
Pregnant Beatrice was later seen beaming as she arrived with her husband at Princess Kate’s Christmas carol concert in early December.
More on Beatrice
Here’s what we know about Beatrice’s pregnancy so far…
Scrapped Italian Christmas
Princess Beatrice joined the royal family at Sandringham after changing her travel plans due to medical advice.
Beatrice and Edoardo had planned on spending the festive period overseas with his family, but she was guided to avoid travelling long distances.
The couple joined royal festivities in a "change of plans" after Andrew pulled out after his "close confidant" Chinese "spy" was unmasked.
Motherhood came "naturally"
A close friend of Princess Beatrice said that motherhood came "very naturally" for the royal.
Celebrity nutritionist Gabriela Peacock told Hello!: “Bea has such a good heart and she’s such a kind person, so motherhood came very naturally to her; she’s a fantastic mum.”
She also praised Beatrice for being a step-mum to Wolfie, who Edoardo shares with ex-partner Dara Huang.
Gabriela added: “She is extremely nurturing and involved with both kids' lives. It’s lovely to see my best friend growing into this next stage of her life and to share it with her.
"Sienna is absolutely gorgeous and looks exactly like Bea. She's really cheeky and has a very good personality.
"She has a lovely family life, she's extremely successful in her career and she has a nice social life. I don't think I've ever seen her so happy.
"She's got the best husband, and she and Edo are a perfect couple and great team. They are so happy and in love and complement each other so well."
Cotswolds £3.5M pad
Beatrice and Edoardo are said to be currently splitting their time between their London apartment at St James's Palace and their £3.5million country home in the Cotswolds.
The incredible pad boasts six bedrooms and numerous reception rooms, which are perfect for hosting guests and royal family members.
And fit for royalty, the farmhouse offers numerous extravagant features, including an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice's close bond
Over the years, the Queen's granddaughters have often spoken about their incredible bond and have previously described themselves as "each other's rocks."
Princess Beatrice was the first child born to the Duke and Duchess of York - Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson - back on August 8, 1988.
The Duchess gave birth at London's Portland Hospital for Women and Children, and Beatrice's full name was announced as Beatrice Elizabeth Mary almost two weeks later.
The couple - who divorced in 1996 - then welcomed Princess Eugenie, whose full name is Eugenie Victoria Helena, on March 23, 1990.
As a result of their close bond, it’s no surprise that back in 2018, as Eugenie made her way down to Windsor Castle for her royal nuptials, her maid of honour Beatrice was firmly by her side.
When asked about her maid of honour by , Princess Eugenie said, “I can’t think of anyone I’d want by my side other than her.”
The couple are often seen at charity events together, and also doing the weekly food shop at Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
Beatrice works in a full-time role as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at tech firm Afiniti.
Meanwhile, Edoardo launched his own property development and interior company, Banda Property, when he was 23.
Close to Andrew and Fergie
Once a fixture at A-list parties and known for his indulgence in the finer things, Prince Andrew now finds himself largely confined to the Royal Lodge, a 30-bedroom mansion on the Windsor estate, which he shares with his former wife Sarah.
It is believed that the Prince now leans on "protective” Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, 34.
