KING Charles has braved the chill with Princess Anne - as the pair wrapped up warm to greet well-wishers at a Sandringham church service.

The King and his younger sister attended the Sunday service at St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate today.

Charles and Queen Camilla have spent Christmas at the royal estate in Norfolk.

They have been joined by family members including Princess Kate, Prince William and their children.

But it was only Charles and Anne who braved the cold for the service today.

Charles, 76, wore a thick winter coat paired with tailored trousers and an umbrella.

Anne wrapped up warm in a thick skirt, a matching jacket, black suede boots, a dark blue hat and a red scarf.

The pair were greeted by dozens of well-wishers lined up outside the church.

Charles and Anne were seen chatting with the Reverend Canon Paul Williams.

It comes after Charles hosted a whopping 45 people at Sandringham on Christmas Day.

His guests included Prince William, Princess Kate and their children George, Charlotte and Louis.

The royals are said to open their presents on Christmas Eve, harking back to their German ancestry.

They reportedly lay their gifts out on trestle tables before swapping them over afternoon tea.

It is said they give each other "cheap" and humorous novelty presents rather than splashing out.

Prince William once reportedly gave the late Queen a pair of slippers emblazoned with her face.

Princess Kate reportedly went with a more earnest gift of homemade chutney.

On Christmas Day the royals go to church at St Mary Magdalene before enjoying roast turkey with trimmings.

In the evening, they are said to play parlour games like charades and bingo.

But it is not known whether they sit down around a TV to watch the King's Speech.
