The daft Christmas decs Kate Middleton loves to makes George, Charlotte & Louis feel like ‘every other kid in the land’
THE royal family follow many formal festive traditions, such as having a black tie dinner and heading to church on Christmas Day.
However, according to a royal butler, Princess Kate likes to put up a “humorous” Christmas decoration for her kids so they are “the same as every other kid in the land.”
Grant Harrold told Fabulous that Princess Kate and Prince William are likely to have a ‘Santa, stop here’ sign for Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.
Grant, who was butler for the Royal Family from 2004 to 2011, claimed: “I absolutely wouldn't rule it out the way William and Kate are.
“They're fun. They've got a good sense of humour. They're very much family orientated.
“You could almost guarantee there'll be things like ‘Santa, stop here’.

“They'll be putting the stockings by the fireplace, the mince pies, the milk for the reindeer.
“You could absolutely guarantee they'll do the exact same thing that we all do.
“The kids and their Christmas are the same as every other kid in the land. Well, most kids in the land.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to give their kids as normal a Christmas as possible, including trips to UK Lapland.
It's already business as usual for the Wales family who were seen at Princess Kate's Together at Christmas carol concert on Friday.
In 2023, Princess Kate and Prince William stayed under the radar as they took their kids on a secret outing to Lapland UK.
The Wales family were seen by a few other attendees as they explored the immersive theatrical experience in Ascot, close to their Windsor home.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will have had the chance to visit the Toy Factory, get an Elf passport, meet huskies and reindeer before an audience with the big man himself, Father Christmas.
The company took to Instagram following the visit saying: “We’d like to thank the Prince and Princess of Wales for trusting LaplandUK with their children’s precious belief in Father Christmas.
“We feel truly honoured that they would choose our world to celebrate this most magical moment in their Small Folks’ lives. A day we will never forget."
Will and Kate's Xmas traditions
Prince William previously discussed his love for the 2003 classic Elf, a comedy that has continued to tickle him each year.
Speaking to young patients at Royal Marsden Hospital, William said: "It’s very funny and I keep watching it every Christmas, it still makes me laugh.”
But he was less decisive when it came to what music the family rock around the tree too, "because he loves so many different types of songs."
"But for this particular chat, I’m going to say Feliz Navidad, because it’s a bit different," he said.
Like thousands of kids around the country, George, Charlotte and Louis send letters to Santa.
Last year the royal trio were seen dropping off envelopes for Father Christmas in a red post box at Kate’s Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey.
Down-to-earth Kate
Kate stunned Christmas shoppers in 2018 by popping into bargain store The Range to buy festive gifts.
Kate, who was with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, mingled with crowds in cut-price outlet The Range.
She bought trolley-loads of pictures, children’s books and artist materials then queued at the tills.
One mum said: “I did a double-take when I saw her. You don’t expect to see royals shopping at The Range.”

It is believed Kate was buying for fellow royals.

SARAH Hewson, royal editor at Talk TV, said the Royal Family typically gather on Christmas Eve to kickstart the celebrations.
She added: “The little royals - George, Charlotte and Louis and Camilla's grandchildren - will help finish decorating the tree.
"Then, the royal family and all their guests will place their gifts on a trestle table in the red drawing room and they will open them at tea time, a German tradition introduced by Prince Albert.
"And contrary to what we might expect when you think about a royal Christmas, there are no diamonds under the tree.
"They actually give joke gifts - Kate once, when he was single, gave Harry a Grow Your Own girlfriend kit, and apparently Meghan's present to the Queen on her first Christmas at Sandringham with a singing hamster.
