King Charles could win Loo of the Year awards after Sandringham Estate toilets rated at Platinum level
THE King could win a royal flush at the Loo of the Year awards.
His Majesty’s posh public toilets at the Sandringham Estate have been rated by inspectors at Platinum level.
That means they can now go forward into the national competition in January.
Sightseers at the 20,000-acre Norfolk estate said they always feel like royalty when they use the facilities at the visitor centre.
Contest nominees are graded by inspectors on a scale from Bronze to Diamond, using 101 criteria including cleanliness, decor, signs, accessibility and customer care.
Bosses at the royal seat said: “The Loo of the Year Awards aim to encourage the highest possible standards in all ‘away from home’ washrooms.

They said big improvements were made this year to ensure visitors have more accessible and better-quality facilities.
A fully accessible Changing Places toilet was added, with equipment including a hoist, curtain, adult changing benches and space for carers.
The improved loos also now offer baby changing facilities in both sets of toilets.
