PRINCESS Kate delighted fans being well enough to step out for a poignant engagement last week in Southport.

The Princess of Wales looked polished for the occasion with hair experts raving about her new look, which appears to be “longer than ever.”

Katie Allan, Celebrity Hair Stylist & Founder of told Fabulous: “Kate Middleton is known for its glossy, voluminous look, and recently it seems longer than it’s been in a while. “Her hair is typically styled in a soft wave or bouncy blowouts, accentuating her hair’s natural shine and health.”

A royal expert was quick to comment on how glossy the royal mum-of-three’s locks looked, and secrets behind how she maintains her “crowning glory.”

Editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine Ingrid Seward told Fabulous: “I think it looked longer and very carefully curled, which is very much the look of the moment. 

“This long, thick, curling hair isn't something you can just walk out of the house with; it requires a lot of rollers, blow drying, and styling.”

So what really goes into achieving Princess Kate’s iconic hair?

Ingrid continued: “She goes to Richard Ward for colour and her go-to hairdresser is Amanda Cook Tucker, who has been with Catherine throughout her royal life. 

“Her hair is always beautifully set on big rollers, which is quite high maintenance.”

Meanwhile Katie added: “Her routine may include hydrating treatments, like masks or oils, to keep her hair nourished. 

“She may also use shine boosting sprays and heat protectants for a flawless, healthy finish.”

Kate's make-up secrets

Royal expert Ingrid also gave some insight into Kate’s make-up too, which always looks flawless for public events.

Surprisingly, the royal doesn’t use a make-up artist, and even did her own look on her wedding day, which was watched by millions.

Ingrid added: “She wears quite heavy make-up because she has the kind of skin that can take dark makeup. 

“She uses products like Bobby Brown foundation, Essie nail varnish, Bobby Brown liner, and Lancome mascara. 

“Although she generally does her own makeup, she occasionally has it done professionally, especially for film premieres where she might have false eyelashes applied. 

“She always looks perfectly made up without being overdone.”

Kate's recent visit

Kate joined William in a surprise public appearance to meet victims of the Southport attack last week.

It is her first public engagement with her husband since her cancer diagnosis - with the last time they took up duties together the Princess' carol concert last December.

Bebe King, six, was killed along with Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in the Merseyside town on July 29.

Their Royal Highnesses met privately with the families of the three tragic children, and dance teacher Leanne Lucas who was present when the attack happened.

Leanne, 35, nearly died after being stabbed in the neck, back and arms as she bravely fought to protect her class.

Will and Kate also met with the fire, ambulance, air ambulance and police services at the Southport Community Centre.

She wore the chic Alexander McQueen coat, which retails for a whopping £2,990, as she wrapped up warm during a visit to Boston Harbour.

"I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can."

Kate will appear at some engagements in the coming months including charity events that are close to her heart, it is understood.

Ingrid speculated: “What she has said constantly is that when she's feeling energetic, she's going to do things. 

“We're certainly going to see her before Christmas at her carol service, which she does every year. 

“Otherwise, it will be a surprise when we see her, and everyone will be delighted.
