PRINCE William and Princess Kate insisted on releasing a tougher statement to slap down Meghan Markle's racism accusations, claims a royal expert.
Three years ago Meghan and Prince Harry made sensational and "unforgivable" allegations during a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In an unprecedented statement released on behalf of the late Queen, the family said: "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.
"While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately."

"It was the then Duchess of Cambridge herself who came up with the powerful phrase 'recollections may vary'.
"Her husband also challenged the allegations, telling reporters: 'We are very much not a racist family'.
