MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry were always planning to betray the royal family and their 2018 wedding was proof, according to a royal biographer.

Outspoken royal expert Tom Bower claims that the guest list at their highly-publicised nuptials revealed Meghan’s “real ambition.”

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Tom claimed: “We know now in hindsight, that Meghan never really intended to stay.

“Her guest list to her wedding showed her real ambition was to be a star in California and Harry's friends redistributed from the guest list in the evening from the dinner, so we know that the agenda was something which the royal family could never really get to grips with.”

Around 250 lucky guests partied with newlyweds Meghan and Prince Harry after their star-studded wedding.

Serena Williams, Carey Mulligan and the cast of Suits were just a few celebs who attended the Windsor bash.

George and Amal Clooney also made the exclusive list, despite claiming they “didn’t know” the couple.

Meanwhile, some of Prince Harry’s long-term close friends didn’t make the cut for the evening bash.

One person who was noticeably absent was one of Harry’s oldest school friends, Tom Inskip, known as “Skippy”, who, according to royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, had questioned Harry’s relationship with Meghan.

In their book Finding Freedom, they wrote: “They were invited to the wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception but didn’t make the cut for the evening bash.

“At brunch the day after the wedding, Skippy told friends ‘Meghan has changed Harry too much.’

“His Eton friend said the prince was awed by the likes of the Clooneys and Oprah.

“‘We’ve lost him,’ Skippy concluded.

“Many of Harry’s old friends said that the evening guest list was the prince and his bride’s way of saying ‘these are the people we want in our lives moving forward.”

Tom claimed to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson that he believes Meghan and Harry have had a “hugely negative impact on the royal family.”

He added: “I think the damage is everlasting and continues.

“And I think that the tragedy is that they tried terribly hard to help Meghan.

“After all, Charles escorted her into the wedding in St George's Chapel.

“The Queen assigned over half a dozen people to look after Meghan trying to help her get into the ways of the royal family, but they could never win.”

Tom pointed out that after stepping back as working royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry took swipes at the family through their Oprah Winfrey interview and Netflix documentary.

He recently returned for a three-day UK visit in May for an Invictus event, but didn’t see cancer-stricken King Charles or Prince William.
