SUSSEX SILENCE

‘Heartbroken’ Prince Harry ‘is not getting updates on King Charles or Kate Middleton’s health’, claims royal author

Royal author Phil Dampier reveals real reason why Harry is being left out in the cold

PRINCE Harry will be “heartbroken” at not being kept in the loop about King Charles and Princess Kate’s cancer treatments, according to a royal author.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly not invited to this year’s Trooping the Colour, despite many royal family members - including Princess Kate - being present.

Speaking to Fabulous, Phil Dampier said: “There’s no way that The King or Prince William would share details of the cancer treatment with Harry.

“They simply don’t trust him and would fear that anything they told him about Charles or Catherine would end up in the public domain, either in the press or on a podcast or social media.

“We all know how bad relations have got in the last couple of years and I’m afraid it’s going to take a very long time before there’s any chance of a reconciliation.

“If Harry feels left out and sidelined I’m afraid that’s his own fault.

“Harry might be heartbroken not to hear from his family but he only has himself to blame.”

Phil, who is author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in Their Own Words, pointed out that on his recent four-day visit to the UK in May, Prince Harry didn’t see his father or brother.

A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex at the time blamed King Charles’ busy schedule on the lack of meeting.

They said: "It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

"The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

Phil added: “William’s main priority is to protect Catherine from any stress or upset and the King is also not in the mood to put himself through some kind of emotional roller coaster with an unpredictable Harry.

“It’s very sad because Harry was once so popular and the King is not seeing his grandchildren.”

This comes as Prince Harry was seen for the first time in a month speaking about how grief "eats away at you".

The Duke of Sussex said children who have lost their parents can't "suppress" their pain forever.

Harry was just 12 when his mum Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997.

He made the remarks while joining Scotty's Little Soldiers founder Nikki Scott for a heartfelt conversation about children losing parents.

In the clip, Harry said: "That's the hardest thing, I think, especially for kids - I don't want to talk about it, it's going to make me sad.

"But then realising that if I do talk about it and I'm celebrating their life then actually things become easier.

"You can't suppress it for too long, it's not sustainable. It will eat away at you inside."

Princess Kate updated fans about her health progress before she appeared at Trooping the Colour.

Writing on Instagram, the royal mum-of-three said: "I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

"It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to
your body resting.

"But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

Kate also told how her treatment is "ongoing and will be for a few more months" as she revealed she is "not out of the woods yet".

But she told how it is a "joy" for her to still engage with school life and spend time "on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home".

Announcing her public return, Kate added: "I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

"Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."
