BORE IN THE USA

‘Wounded’ Harry backdated US residency to exact day he & Meg were evicted from UK base to make point to King & William

Harry has 'considered' US citizenship which would mean renouncing his royal titles

PRINCE Harry backdated his new official status as a US resident to the exact day he and wife Meghan were ousted from their UK base.

Royal experts suggested last night that Harry, 39, was making a point after being “deeply wounded” by the order to leave Frogmore Cottage.

In an update of Company House records filed this week, the Duke of Sussex declared the United States his “new country” of residence.

He and Meghan, 42, moved to California in 2020 after choosing to quit Britain and step down as working royals.

However, in business documents filed for his eco firm Travalyst, Harry said he been a US resident since June 29 last year.

That was the day his father King Charles — backed by Harry’s brother William — ordered him to return the keys to his Windsor bolthole.

Royal author Phil Dampier believes it is a sign that Harry — who has launched several attacks on the Royal Family — has cut ties with the UK.

He said last night: “As always with Harry a lot can be read into his actions.

“Being ousted from Frogmore Cottage wounded him deeply.

“Charles and William knew it had to be done to emphasise Harry and Meghan were outside The Firm but he probably still thought he could keep a base here. Now he’s shown he accepts his life is in the US.”

Harry said this year he has “considered” US citizenship, which would mean renouncing his royal titles.

Mr Dampier believes he may never live in the UK again, and said he would not be missed.

Major update in Prince Harry ‘drug use’ lawsuit as duke’s US visa papers are handed over to judge

The British public “have lost respect for him and regard him as the prince of idleness and division”, he added.

Harry founded Travalyst in 2019 and previously listed himself as a UK resident.

He is due to return next month for a ten-year anniversary celebration of his Invictus Games.

Last week the US government handed over his previous visa application to a court amid claims he lied on it.

Harry confessed last year to drug-taking, which must be declared.

US presidential nominee Donald Trump warned: “If he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

HARRY'S VISA ROW

The key facts:

Harry claimed in his memoir Spare he has taken coke, weed and magic mushrooms.

A conservative think tank called the Heritage Foundation say the drug use claims pull Harry’s immigration status into question.

They took the US government to court demanding the Duke’s visa application is made public, to see if he lied about his past drug use.

If he did lie, Harry could be in breach of US federal law.

Government lawyers argue say releasing such documents would breach Harry’s privacy and security.
