MEGHAN Markle is wading into politics because it’s her “last resort”, a royal expert has claimed.

The duchess and Prince Harry have joined a campaign to warn American voters against misinformation in the upcoming presidential election.

The Archewell Foundation will support the initiative to help US voters spot AI deepfakes and fake news

However, royal biographer Angela Levin believes the move is hugely hypocritical of the Sussexes.

She told The Sun: “The couple believe enormously that it's their job to get rid of misinformation.

“I think they gave us a lot of misinformation as well about how they were treated. The misinformation element is hypocritical.”

MORE ON MEGHAN

It’s not the first time Meghan has entered into the political world - as in 2021 it was rumoured that she could run for office

Ms Levin continued: “Meghan's got an itch to do something political because she's failing in so many different areas - acting, producing, now being a guru of home life.

“I think that this will make her feel very proud. But any American I've spoken to say ‘On your life, will we have her getting involved in?’

“This she tried before, and everybody said, No, she couldn't. There are a few people who support her there, but she can't, and certainly with a husband who's English. It's not gonna work, either.

“They don't want someone to come over and tell them what to do for goodness sake.”

It comes as Harry's US visa application has been handed over to a judge.

Meghan had everything to be an asset to the royals and blew it - they had such high hopes for her

The duke had been fighting to stop the release of the documents after concerns were raised over his application.

The case was brought by a think tank after Harry claimed in his memoir Spare he took coke, weed and magic mushrooms.

The Heritage Foundation argued that releasing the documents would prove if Harry lied about his past drug use on his visa application.

They say that if the Duke did lie, he could be in breach of US federal law and should lose his immigration status.

And now President Joe Biden's lawyers have confirmed they've complied with a court order to move it onto the next step.
