THE ROYAL Family is preparing for a rather different Easter this year, as plans change amid King Charles and Princess Kate's health battles.
King Charles, who is being treated for cancer, will attend the Easter Sunday Service at St. George's Chapel.
He will be joined by several senior royals, including his wife Queen Camilla.
In the wake of her cancer announcement, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their three children will not attend the service.
Sunday's appearance will mark the first major event for Charles, 75, since he was diagnosed with cancer in February.

Meghan Markle will need "A-list" backing to make a success of her new business venture, royal commentators have said.
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, has lodged papers to trademark her new business American Riviera Orchard - which will sell dog shampoo, chicken feed and cosmetic products.
But commentators think she will need the support of her LA friends if she wants to make the business a household name.
Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun: “The whole enterprise doesn't sound to me like one that would be Hollywood A-list.
“But if she can get out to endorse the said products - George Clooney, perhaps Oprah then, that's another thing.
“I mean, she had Hollywood a Listers at the wedding. Now is the time to call on them."
William and Harry's reunion would be 'very brief' and 'carefully choreographed'
Any reunion between Prince Harry and William in the wake of Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis would be "very brief", a royal author has said.
Tom Quinn told The Mirror: "Given Kate's cancer diagnosis, Harry will certainly make efforts to see his brother and Kate when he returns to the UK in May.
"If it happens at all it's to be a very brief carefully choreographed meeting and organised to last a short time so that the brothers can avoid any difficult conversations."
Kate’s announcement leads thousands to check cancer website
Princess Kate’s announcement that she had been diagnosed with cancer has seemingly inspired thousands to get checked.
Traffic on the NHS and other cancer charity websites surged in the wake of the announcement.
Visits to the NHS cancer symptoms webpage averaged one every three seconds in the hours following her statement.
And the number of searches for the page doubled to 4,172 for a short period on Friday evening.
Visits to the cancer homepage were also five times higher than normal over 24 hours.
Who to expect at this week's royal Easter service
King Charles and Queen Camilla will be in attendance at the Royal Family's annual Easter service this Sunday.
However, some other senior royals will not be making an appearance.
This includes Princess Kate, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children - Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five - will not attend the upcoming service.
'The rift is too deep'
The rift between Harry and William is simply "too deep" to be repaired, the BBC’s former royal correspondent Jennie Bond claims.
She told radio: “The bricks that have been thrown, the insults, the allegations, the accusations, the hurt, the pain, the rift is too deep now between William and Harry, I think.
“I personally think William has more or less blotted Harry out of his mind, out of life, and is focused on his role, his family and what he has to do.
“And I think he regards Harry as a nonperson, really, in his life, which is terribly sad.”

“It made Harry feel alienated. Friends recall 'no speaks' and quite a serious rift between the brothers at the time – as there had been after the 'Drugs Shame' of 2002, when Harry had first started to realise the price of playing the functional scapegoat.”
The Middleton’s to be ‘absolutely pivotal’ in supporting Kate
Kate Middleton’s family will be “pivotal” in helping her through this difficult time, a royal expert has said.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam told The Sun Online: “We know that she’s got a very close and supported family, and secondly, that the support is under the radar.
“The Middletons are clearly a very, very important part of her and William’s life.
“At the moment absolutely pivotal. I would say.”

Kate was keen to speak to the King about his battle and find out how he was coping.
It is believed the royals also discussed the mum-of-three’s video message and the princess was said to be encouraged by the support her father-in-law received.
A source told : “A factor in their decision to go public would have been the great warmth and affection received by the King as a result of his announcement.
“It meant a huge amount to him.”
When will Kate Middleton return to royal duties?
It is understood that Princess Kate will not be returning to her royal duties until she is good and ready after a difficult cancer diagnosis.
One upcoming event she will not be taking part in is the traditional royal Easter service next week.
In the video posted where she announced her diagnosis, she said: “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”
Prince William and their three children will also not be expected to attend the event at St George’s Chapel, which takes place on the grounds of the Berkshire Castle for the Easter Day Mattins.
Princess Kate’s statement in full
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should
undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to
George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.
“We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.
“At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”
Tests following Kate’s surgery revealed the cancer
Despite the fact that Kate’s stomach surgery went well, following the procedure, examinations revealed that “cancer had been present.”
At about the same time, on February 5, the palace said that after receiving treatment for a benign prostate enlargement, King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the statement said.
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

A former Royal press secretary has told of Princess Kate’s midnight emergency phone calls after being hounded by paparazzi while dating Prince William.
Paddy Harverson, who was previously the official spokesman for Prince William, first met Kate when she started dating his boss.
He told the Sunday with Laura Kuennsberg show: “I remember when I first met her as Kate … every now and then when she was being hounded by the press she’d ring me up in the middle of the night and say, ‘Paddy, I don’t want to bother you, but there’s paparazzi outside, or there’s men in a car chasing me around London’.

Preventative chemotherapy – how effective is the treatment Princess Kate is having?
In her statement on Friday, the Princess of Wales told how she had begun preventative chemotherapy.
It came after doctors discovered she had cancer following major abdominal surgery in January. But what is it – and how effective can it be?
The treatment, also known as adjuvant chemotherapy, is a course of anti-cancer drugs that is given to mop up any cancer cells that might remain in the body after primary cancer treatment , which is usually surgical removal of a tumour.
It is particularly effective for breast, bowel and lung cancer but can be recommended for other forms too.
It is not known what type of cancer the Princess has.
Kate’s condition was thought to be benign before abdominal surgery
Upon performing “major abdominal surgery” in January, medical professionals first thought Kate’s ailment wasn’t malignant.
The London Clinic is where Kate had her operation, and she spent 13 days there recovering.
The palace released a statement after her discharge stating that she was “making good progress.”
“The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress,” Kensington Palace said in a statement.
“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.”
