PRINCE Harry's appearance at a Diana event tonight after William has already gone home is a sign of his "petulance", a royal expert has fumed.

Prince William is set to stand before a crowd in London at the annual Diana Legacy Award event, giving a short speech as he honours the winners.

Royal Biographer Angela Levin has blasted Harry for agreeing to talk over video link, after William has left.

She told The Sun: "It's a continuation of how badly they get on together.

"William's absolutely furious with Harry and Harry's being petulant. It's not even childish at this point, his behaviour is disgusting."

Last year the princes recorded separate videos to congratulate the winners as they celebrated Princess Diana's globally recognised charity work.

It had been a stark contrast to years gone by when the brothers attended together.

In 2021, they put on a united front with Harry telling the masses: "Later this week, my brother and I are recognising what would have been our mum's 60th birthday, and she would be so proud of you all for living an authentic life with purpose and with compassion for others."

Today Prince William seemed in high spirits during a visit to WEST, the new OnSide Youth Zone in west London.

He smiled and waved at gathering crowds while chatting animatedly with Kevin McGranth, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant.

Angela added that the brother's close bond was forged after Diana's death but destroyed in recent years.

She said: "Harry has tried to make out his mother is more concerned with him than she was with William, which is also a spiteful thing to do.

"I mean, he told me that he felt he was still in contact with his mother. And looking, looked up to the heavens as he said that she was proud of him.

"I don't think your brother really wants to hear all that. It's very unkind to assume that his mother likes him much more, and is in touch with him through the heavens rather than William. It's a very unkind thing."

Editor of The Sun newspaper Victoria Newton says it's time to give the Princess of Wales a break from the backlash to her edited Mother's Day photo

The brothers will appear at separate times tonight because "William doesn't want to have another row", Angela added.

She said: "William, in particular, doesn't want to have another row. so they can just do things very, very separately."

Angela fears Harry "wants to take all the action for himself" after he revealed he would continue to do things for Diana's legacy over the next week.

"Now I think that's going to annoy William.  Maybe they put it in a way that maybe William is going to do other things, too, but on the surface, and I might be wrong. It looks as if Harry wants to take all the action for himself.

"I think it's disgusting, petulant, you know all the negative words you could possibly think of."

She added that there's "no going back" for Harry as William would never accept him back into the Royal fold now.

She said: " I don't think William would accept Harry becoming a member of the Royal Family again, because he's been so rude.

"He didn't write Spare when he was 11 or 12, a young teenager who had a grievance, he's nearly 40. It's about time he behaved himself."

The awards come after Princess Kate revealed she had edited a sweet Mother's Day pic as social media critics pointed out mistakes.

Fans then started looking over royal photos and Harry and Meghan Markle broke their silence on the saga.

Weeks ago sources gave another insight into Harry and Wills' rift.

The first hints of friction between the brothers reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Have there been rift rumours in the past?

In 2018, the Sun told how "simmering tension" began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan's engagement.

The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she'd returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother to brother chat.

He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.

The younger prince reportedly didn't take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he "went mental".

Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure - but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further increased rumours of a fall out.

The Sun told how "simmering tension" began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan's engagement.

Harry, 39, later hinted in his ITV documentary Harry and Meghan, An African Journey that he and his brother had grown apart.

But last month it emerged the royal rift was rumoured to have taken off over the brothers' differing approach to wildlife conservation.

The pair share a passion for preserving protected species but they had opposing views on how to carry it out in Africa.

William favoured "community-led initiatives", while Harry supported a "more interventionist approach".

A source told : "They are both very passionate about saving protected species but didn’t always share the same view about how to run projects in Africa.

"William believes you should focus on community-led schemes where local people over time feel empowered to protect the land.

"Harry, on the other hand, was more interventionist. He felt that you need a more hands-on approach to ensure wildlife habitats were securely protected to enact change quickly."

Last year Harry claimed his brother "knocked him to the floor" during an argument about Meghan.

In his book Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan "rude" and "difficult" during a row.

Harry alleged William "grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor".

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.

Meanwhile, it's been revealed Prince Philip called Meghan the "D.O.W" after the Duchess of Windsor — the American divorcee who led Edward VIII to abdicate.

And he warned the late Queen to be "cautious" of Harry's then bride-to-be, a royal author claimed.

Ingrid Seward revealed in new book My Mother And I that Prince Philip felt it was "uncanny... how much Meghan reminded him of the Duchess of Windsor".

The brothers were last seen together ahead of the late Queen's funeral in 2022, when they appeared to come together to put on a united front with their wives.

Prior to that they were seen together in public at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June the same year.
