PRINCE George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are currently on their half-term holiday from school and are supporting mum Kate Middleton at home.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have taken their kids to their countryside retreat, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, while Kate recovers from her planned abdominal surgery that took place on January 16.

Kate, 42, is said to be “on the mend”, following her 13-day recovery in the private London Clinic - although she is unlikely to be seen carrying out any frontline duties until after Easter.

After her hospital stay, Kate returned to the family’s home, Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, but they relocated to Norfolk last week.

Upon being reunited with her kids, Kate was said to have received “cards and banners and little gifts” from George, Charlotte and Louis.

A pal told the : "Catherine is recovering well.

"She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William."

Kate and William often like to take their kids to their 10-bedroom country home in Norfolk in their school holidays.

All three kids currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire.

Royal editor Ingrid Seward told Fabulous: “Kate and William are fortunate enough to have a huge choice for their children’s summer holidays.

“They have their own home, Anmer Hall which the children call home and keep all their small animals.”

While Kate is understandably “taking it easy”, there are plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy with Prince William.

Ingrid continued: “They can take advantage of everything Sandringham has to offer, including wonderful beaches and miles of paths through the estate to ride on ponies or bikes.

“They also have a tennis court and every amenity they can possibly have including lots of local friends.”

Kate previously said her kids love going spider-hunting and also raise chickens at Anmer Hall.

The family is close by to King Charles, who is also spending time in Norfolk following his cancer diagnosis, and could pop round for a visit, depending on medical advice.

The monarch was admitted to The London Clinic on January 26 to undergo the operation and his stay was extended by 24 hours.

A "separate issue of concern was noted" during his corrective prostate surgery - and further tests revealed the presence of cancer.

In their statement a Palace spokesman stated: "Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer."

As the news broke, Prince Harry jetted 5,000 miles to be by his father’s side, and saw him for a 30-minute meeting, before flying home.

His Majesty is undergoing a schedule of regular treatments and "remains wholly positive".

It follows a string of health shocks for the Royal Family, with the Duchess of York, 64, also told she had cancer just after Christmas.

Fergie and Charles are understood to be supporting each other through their treatment.

King Charles will continue with his red boxes, weekly audiences with the Prime Minister, and monthly Privy Council meetings, but they may have to be scaled back on the advice of doctors.

Why Kate's kids didn't visit her in hospital

Instead of visiting, the kids connected with Kate via Facetime calls during her hospital stay - but royal biographer Ingrid Seward thinks there's a healthy reason for this.

Ingrid told : "I don't think she wanted to make more of a big thing of it than it already was.

"They’ll be rallying 'round in their own way and helping to look after her."

The children were all understood to have been at school throughout Kate's time in hospital.

While it likely will have been a personal choice, children are also generally not allowed to visit the London Clinic without permission from the hospital for the safety of the patients.

Not only this, but children are also generally not encouraged to visit in the attempt to keep infections at bay.

The website stipulates: "Any special requests for children to visit must be approved by the Matrons.

“If approved, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will look after them throughout the visit."

In the meantime, Prince William and Queen Camilla have taken the lead and stepped up to help with royal duties.

Last Wednesday, despite the turbulent time for his family, the prince gave a speech at a charity fundraising gala.

William, who served as a rescue pilot saving lives for seven years, attended the event for the London Air Ambulance Charity.

It came hours after he returned to public engagements for the first time and held an investiture at Windsor Castle.

William was seen smiling and joking as he handed out gongs at the ceremony.

Queen Camilla has also put on a brave face amid the troubling time for her family.

She was seen with Charles on Tuesday for the first time since his cancer shock - taking a helicopter to Sandringham after meeting Prince Harry.

The King was spotted smiling as they were driven from their London home Clarence House to the palace.

Queen Camilla was also pictured at the opening of a new cancer treatment centre days before Charles' diagnosis was made public.

Despite knowing of her husband's condition she continued with royal duties and smiled as she greeted visitors.

Last week, she spoke out for the first time sharing an update on His Majesty's health at a charity event in Salisbury Cathedral.

She gave an update, speaking to Ben Abbott, 40, Critical care paramedic with Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and said: "He’s doing extremely well under the circumstances.
