Prince Harry and William are men not Diana’s boys – Wills is doing his duty and now his brother must do the same
Royal expert Robert Jobson warned 'now is the time for payback' on our brilliant new show Royal Exclusive
PRINCE Harry and William are men not Diana’s boys, a royal expert has said – adding Wills is doing his duty and now his brother must do the same.
The two brothers did not meet during Harry’s transatlantic dash to be with King Charles following his shock cancer diagnosis.
Royal expert Robert Jobson said Harry and William need to “grow up” and look after their father.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, he said: “We just want Charles to be healthy.
“Focus on his health, maybe do a bit of painting, get people off his case.
“People keep coming in and asking him questions, putting things on his plate.
“This is why it would probably be quite good if William and Harry were not making the later stages of his life a misery, which is what he said they were doing.
“They’re not boys any more, they’re both men. It’s time to grow up.”
Jobson added: “Harry’s gone. He’s made his bed, he’s going to lie in it – that’s it.
“But what could happen is what William did when they had that walk-about after the Queen’s death. There was a truce.
“They don’t have to do that, they don’t have to be so graphic. I think Kate said at the time it was the hardest thing she ever had to do.
“The two brothers have to bury the hatchet, say they’ll agree to disagree.
“Let’s agree not to talk about each other any more and let’s try to build the relationship.
“And the same with the King. Ultimately, they are men not boys.”
How Charles bravely revealed diagnosis to help others
KING Charles has bravely broken with royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.
Senior royals have in past been tight-lipped about their health battles.
The last top royal diagnosed with cancer was Charles’s grandfather George VI.
Heavy smoker George had his left lung removed for “structural abnormalities” in September 1951, months before he died.
The “abnormalities” were actually a life-threatening carcinoma, but the public never learned about George’s cancer ordeal.
Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to boost “public understanding” for cancer patients worldwide.
William returned to work this week as he prepares to lead the Royal Family through his dad’s cancer crisis.
He is said to “remain focused” on looking after his wife Kate, who is recovering from surgery – rather than burying the hatchet with Harry.
Jobson said the two brothers need to end their rift – and that Harry should stop “playing up for cheap publicity”.
He said: “Any apologies should happen privately. I’m sorry about what I said, you’re sorry about what you said. Draw a line under it.
“Anybody who has lost a parent suddenly grows up quite quickly after it.
“While they’re alive, you’ve still got that paternal bond where they can sort it all out for you.
“Once your parent passes, you’ve got to get on with it. This is proof that the King is not indestructible, he’s a human being.
“He’s been there for them all this time, through the loss of their mum.
What you need to do is stop the nonsense of playing up for cheap publicity

“It’s time for payback now. It’s time for them to grow up and be men, not Diana‘s boys.
“One is 41 and one is 39. They’re not baby boys, they’re men and both fathers.
Jobson added: “It’s time they did more for the King. William is certainly doing that.
“He was at the Coronation, he’s been there for him ever since he’s been King.
“Come on Harry, you’re not a baby. It’s time for you to be a liege man. You don’t have to do the royal engagements
“What you need to do is stop the nonsense of playing up for cheap publicity.
“He must realise that he owes his father an apology. If he wants William to do the same, then fine.
“William probably would do that in private – but it might then get released.”
Prince Harry's tense visits to Britain since Megxit
Relations between Charles and Harry were previously feared by some to be fractured beyond repair amid the fallout over their royal row.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun in December: “Charles and Harry’s relationship was at an all-time low before but this may have fractured it beyond all repair.
“It could spell the end game for them.”
Hopes of a reconciliation had been raised after Harry called Charles to wish him a happy 75th birthday last month and sent a video of the King’s US-based grandkids Archie, now four, and Lilibet, two.
And now, Harry has jetted back from the UK following his first face-to-face meeting with Charles for 16 months.
Here’s a look inside their fractured relationship since Megxit.
January 2020 – Harry and Meghan make their ‘Megxit’ flight, leaving for Canada, eventually setting up home in California, USA.
March 2021 – Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.
July 2021 Harry jets back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.
Pals said at the time: “William was still furious. He had taken the view that he’d only give so much. He just didn’t want to go there [with Harry].”
September 2022 – Harry jets to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral. Meghan Markle, who was heavily pregnant at the time, was unable to attend due to doctor’s orders not to fly.
A pal of Harry’s tells Omid Scobie Harry met the Queen privately ‘at least twice’ and spoke with Charles and William after the Westminster Abbey service.
Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between William and Harry as they share a private chat.
September 2022 – The duke claimed he found out Queen Elizabeth had died in an online news alert.
He jetted to Balmoral without Meghan, and claimed in Spare that she was told she should not attend by Charles.
Harry travelled on a separate flight to his brother William – who travelled with the rest of the family.
The duke wrote in his memoir: “When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: ‘Call me when you get this.’ I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother had died. My father was King.”
Harry and Meghan were sat behind Charles at the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey.
March 2023 – Harry is told King Charles is “too busy” to see him while he’s in the UK for a privacy hearing, according to reports.
The Duke had jetted to the UK to attend a four-day preliminary hearing at the High Court in London regarding his battle with publisher Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over allegations of unlawful information gathering.
It was the first time the Prince was back on home soil since the Queen‘s funeral.
Harry flew back to the US once the hearing was over.
April 2023 – Harry has a “heart-to-heart” talk with his dad before agreeing to come to the Coronation in London
The Duke travelled alone to attend the ceremony on May 6.
Harry headed straight back to the US following the coronation in Westminster Abbey.
He did not appear to speak to his brother William or sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the ceremony – taking a backseat and sitting in the third row at the ceremony.
September 2023 – Prince Harry visits the UK for the annual WellChild Awards, a charity of which he has been patron for 15 years.
But the Duke is not thought to have met his father, as the King had “no time” in his diary to see his son, it was reported.
January 2024 – Harry flies to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.
The two have their first meeting for more than 16 months at Clarence House, lasting half an hour.
Harry does not meet William and flies back to the US the following day.
Last night Harry made a joke-heavy speech in Las Vegas as he handed out a “Man of the Year” award – without mentioning his father.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, shocked fans as he took to the stage during the 2024 NFL Honors in Las Vegas.
At the awards ceremony, Harry joked that Americans “stole rugby from us and made it your own”.
He added: “Instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards.
“Why not wear pads and a helmet?
“Of course, have an offence and defence – that makes sense.
“And why not have a breather every 15 seconds?
“And you know what? Instead of a 10-month season, let’s just make it 18 weeks. Genius.
“All kidding aside, what you guys do on and off the field is truly remarkable.
“You are role models for millions in the way you carry yourselves and the way you give back.”
It is the first time Harry has spoken publicly since King Charles’ and comes just hours after he visited his father on Tuesday.
Receiving the gong, DE Cameron Heyward said: “Classic. ‘Prince freakin’ Harry.
“I’m in shock. That’s Prince Harry.”
