Princess Lilibet’s £4.8k gift that Meghan Markle ‘totally splurged on’, but she has to wait until she’s older to have it
Being the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Princess Lilibet is already extremely fortunate.
And the two-year-old’s jewellery collection is already stacking up nicely with heirloom pieces from Princess Diana and her mother to possibly wear when she is old enough.
Included in that will be Meghan’s Cartier Tank Française watch that she bought herself whilst working on the TV show Suits.
After learning it had been commissioned for a third season, she celebrated by buying a £4,800 designer piece of jewellery which she had engraved.
It was back in 2015 that Meghan explained her plans for the watch - hoping she would have a daughter that she could pass it down to.
The Duchess told at the time: "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version [of the watch]."

She continued: "I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.'
"And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
Meghan’s watch is the the piece she wears most regularly on her wrist, in fact, the former actress loves to showcase Princess Diana's Cartier Tank Française watch that the Princess of Wales wore regularly for engagements in the 1990s.
Princess Diana's Cartier Tank Française watch was a gift from her father on her 21st birthday, and then it was passed to Harry.

But did you know? The watch wasn’t actually left to Harry?
After the Princess of Wales passed away, her private jewellery was divided between her two sons.
The watch was originally given to Prince William, while Harry got Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring – the brothers then swapped the pieces.
It is believed Harry gave Meghan the watch in the year days of their relationship.
According to , Princess Diana’s watch cost £17,800 at the time, but is now likely to be worth a lot more given its history.
Princess Diana’s watch isn’t the only piece Meghan now owns and wears regularly.
Arguably one of the Duchess of Sussex’s favourite pieces is Princess Diana’s Cartier diamond tennis bracelet.
It was in 2018 during a state dinner in Fiji that Meghan was first seen wearing the bracelet.
She has worn it several times since then, including at a Commonwealth Day service in 2019, at the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York in 2021 and in her tell all interview with Oprah in 2021.
The bracelet was another gift to Meghan by Harry in the early days of their courtship.

It’s also widely believed that this particularly bracelet is the one that Harry took stones from to make Meghan’s bespoke engagement ring.
Jewellery experts estimate the bracelet to be worth £140,000 and is another potential piece for Lilibet to inherit.
